Editing of the final An Apple Alone chapter is still underway. I'd say it's about 70% complete or so. Unless some really long delays happen for no reason (procrastination isn't going to happen -- I want to get this done), expect it to be posted within a week or two.Years Later... Hiatuses. We all experience them with authors writing stories we love. For me, the experience currently lies with Game of Thrones.
So I hope I can say that I sympathize with the few folks that are waiting on me to finish this fic!
I'm setting time deliberately aside each day to get the next chapter out. I have an outline for the story planned start-to-finish (I've had that pretty much since the fic's inception). Pesky real life has gotten in the way over the years, along with a lack of interest in continuing writing...
But new year, new resolution, new schedule, and I'm tired of this incomplete fic hanging over my head like the Sword of Damocles.
Over a year ago I made a couple blog post updates saying that I was making progress on the next chapter. Those were authentic! The current rough draft is sitting at around 18,000 words. (The final edited chapters are almost always trimmed down though... that said, it's not 100% done yet!)
I'm going to try my best to get the next chapter out by January or February of this year. I'll try to stay somewhat active here with blog posts and whatnot so that you can tell I'm not dead! (And if you really want, shoot me a message here to add me as a friend on Discord chat; I'm on there all the time.)
It's time to bring this fic to its conclusion, after all these years.
What glorious news. I've waited this long, I can to wait another month or two.
