72 Hours Remain

Wanted to post another update so that it isn't presumed I just left again. Editing of the final An Apple Alone chapter is still underway. I'd say it's about 70% complete or so. Unless some really long delays happen for no reason (procrastination isn't going to happen -- I want to get this done), expect it to be posted within a week or two.

And more procrastination was wrought.

Been a long time, hasn't it?

So many times I resolved to "get the next chapter out before the next season starts." Which then would morph to "when the next season ends." This repeated a few times, as real life caught up and my interest in writing waned. It came back every now and then, but I never jumped back into writing. But I would always think about how An Apple Alone had been sitting out there unfinished. It hung over my head like the Sword of Damocles.

Editing is progressing smoothly. A good chunk of the chapter has been checked out, with the last 6k or so words still up for prereading.

Once that's done, I'll give it a last read-through of my own, and then, well... Everyone gets to read it, if all goes according to plan.

Optimistically, I would love to post this some time next weekend. Realistically, it may be a couple weeks out or more. Keep your hooves crossed, friends.

Another quick update. Hacking away at this chapter daily now. And editors are now telling me all the things I've done wrong or are incorrect! A fresh set of eyes definitely makes all the difference.

Editing is well underway. The rough draft is shaping up quite nicely, and those who edit and preread for me have access. It's still sitting at over 20k words and barring massive rewrites it ought to stay that high.

It's definitely looking like we'll have an end-of-month release. Two weeks ought to be more than enough for editing, prereading, and potential rewrites depending on what is found.
