    Merry Christmas

As the title says, Merry Christmas to you all. And best wishes for a prosperous new year! Here is a chapter of Desert Prince as my gift to you. More will be coming, but remember, I've got to deal with the slower pace I've been able to write, so patience is really appreciated. On other good news, I have a chapter of Herding Instincts written, and another chapter of Irony's Tale ready to go. They

    Update for stories.

    Greetings my dear readers!

Am I back? That’s a very good question that I will answer. But, have I told you how wonderful you are? The great comments, feedback on stories, I mean…it’s wonderful.

    Upcoming Chapters

Sometimes, I procrastinate. This message is one that I’ve been procrastinating on doing. And for that fact, I apologize to you, dear readers. I’ve got a bit of a story to tell you. First off, I’ve been consistently releasing a story chapter every two weeks for quite a while now, over a year since I cut back from once a week to every other week. Some of you only follow one or two stories, so just

    FRIDAY!!!!!

I've got 3 chapters of Herding Instincts (well, the 3rd is in progress), two complete chapters of Desert Prince, and three of Irony's Tale. And of those eight chapters, 2 are edited and ready for release. So, let's say we get some chapters out into the wild, huh? My face is utterly numb, thanks to the dentist. And I want to get chapters out. So, let's go, this friday, we get a release.

Normally, not only am I resistant to revamping what is already written. I tend to dig in my heels and say it's the story as it is, for good or bad.

Not this time though. Enough feedback has been received here on the last few chapters of Herding Instincts. I am going to take down some chapters, and revamp them, so look for them in the coming weeks. No details here, Tim's still in trouble, his herd is still going to not be happy with him. But something was missing, and we went too far with some. So, editing will be made. I'm not going to lay this problem at anyone's feet, because in the end, it's my story, and my decisions are what drive it. So, I hope you all like the fact that you have swayed me. And enjoy further chapters.

Drat, and I was so enjoying the conflict.

The conflict in the story remains, just...the nature of it changes. More loving, less unfeeling.

So now everyone is locked out?

hum i did not see this coming.

Hope to see what gets changed but either way I been enjoying the story. Cannot wait to read more.

I would never tell a writer to change a story, it's their piece of artwork, and I would know better than stick my nose into it. Although I'm not above thinking such things.

Looking forward to reading the reworked version.

My criticism was not meant for you to change this story. It was in order to make your next story better.

From my own perspective, the only thing really missing was something in Tim and how he acted. He felt a little blank, though having experience with depression, it also made a certain kind of sense for him to be withdrawn and blank, just giving in to the expectations of those he loves.

Always take care with revisions. Don't let yourself change anything but the implementation of events, not the events themselves. Forcing people to question their beliefs and viewpoints always nets some stronger reactions. I'm glad that you forced me to think more deeply on aspects of life often assumed by most as only working one way. Culture clash makes for interesting moments.

As the old adage goes: Be careful what you wish for...

I have to admit I've looked at chapters I've written and just... I usually go through them maybe a dozen times or more before I ever post them, and I have decided that what I had written was absolute rubbish at least once. I've then torn the chapter apart, salvaged what i could and re-written it. Sometimes that's what you have to do.

Sometimes if the feedback you get is very consistent in its criticism of what they think is lacking, or how ponies interact, then perhaps it's worth taking another look and seeing if you can do better. Or maybe you just need to put things a different way. Even hurtful criticism can be useful if the criticiser gives good details on what they don't like. Bad criticism that gives you no idea is not useful to anyone.

So, I hope you all like the fact that you have swayed me.

I don't like that fact.

Wherever the story goes... I’m in!
