Update! · 10:36am Dec 22nd, 2017
Hail Friends,
I write today to inform everypony of recent events. First I failed NaNoWriMo. I made excellent first week progress, but my work schedule demanded too much for me to continue to make acceptable progress. That being said I have the work I put on the story written down and will continue with 'Adagio for a Sun' to be edited and submitted for review to FimFiction at some point in the first half of 2018 alongside the first installment of 'As the Moon Rises'. So for anyone that did see the released chapter the story will start out telling of the fall of Luna and slowly establish a new series of events. For those who didn't see my short release I took the story down as it was just a transcribed five minutes of the Celestia and Luna fight from Twilight's dream trip through time. The major difference there was Celestia was sealed in the moon and the Nightmare was mysteriously missing when the dust cleared. I pulled the story upon realizing that, while a good set up leaving the proper questions for the rest of the series, it lacked the ability to distinguish itself from the, no doubt, thousands of other Luna based story lines.
That brings me to my second bulletin 'As the Moon Rises' will now be a standalone prequel to 'The Sun Sets' with three chapters to establish my alternate universe... timeline... thing. As previously mentioned 'AtMR' was bland and in serious lack of elbow grease. That only left me to worry for the rest of the series, so I will write the three chapter prequel and then the rest of the story, which will manage to be standalone if no one wants to read 'AtMR'.
Third, with school right around the corner I will have even less time to write... or I would say that, but I will probably writing more while in class to try and have my two series finished with their first stage by March. Not much else to go here, I am a slow writer fighting the ever increasing amount of distractions present when I try to work my craft.
I am attempting to take up some editing and pre-reading positions to assist myself in refining my own writing. Currently it has shown me I have a long way to go. I have talked to a couple of other editors on the site, and plan on continuing correspondence in hopes that they can shed some light on my dark path.
I guess those are all the updates I really have, if you must know why work picked up, there was a gas line explosion. No it was not at my place of employ, yes the worker present at said explosion was injured, but he was moved to the hospital to treat his non-lethal wounds, the gas was knocked out and with the holiday rush I had to work rigorous hours to make up for the impromptu days off. Two weeks after New Years I should settle into a new schedule and hopefully that will leave enough time to finish one if not both of my stories.
In Stantes Ipsum, Hubris
P.S. If you read all of this, thank you. I write for myself, but having readers is something I really look forward to.
P.P.S. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Hearth's Warming, may whatever you celebrate (or don't) be filled with joy.
