Remember that fic, you guys? I liked the first one, I'll admit. It was a clever little drabbley thing.

But now he's trying to make it into this serious stuff and people are like, reading. Enough to get it featured.

Well then.

facehoof. Any of you fine ponies out there read the new sequel? Think he's just milking this cash cow? OR is he actually putting together a good tale?

I read it, didn't really like it.

Must be because I am making my first fic as we speak so I may be self-loving :P

Like I'd read that shit.

I don't care if the first one was funny; it was still something I detest. I hate meta/one joke fics like the first one because they are clearly written for only the featured bar and a few quick laughs. Is there anything endearing about them? No. And that's why they make me sick. Luna Eats an Oreo may have 1,000 thumbs-up, but how many people do you think actually still remember that fic? None, because it was a bunch of cheap laughs wrapped around a silly gimmick.

And the fact that this dude's milking his success is even worse. So many up and coming authors getting fucked over by this guy's desire for attention and lack of respect for the written word.

Okay, I'm done ranting now.

434938>>434940 My thoughts are actually similar.

If it makes sense... If there wasn't a feature bar, I'd like those kind of things more. As they are... they are kind of a gimmick. There's little effort in them. He had his time in the sun. He probably got a few followers out of it, views.... why not write a REAL story, man?

It's kind of a waste.

I am a little tired of those sort of gimmick X does/eats/tries Y style fics. haha, funny... but not anymore. It's old now. Move on.

Richard the Third? You are a gentleman and a scholar.

434952 I see your bard and raise you a bitter bit of Juvenal.

Nam qui dabat olim
imperium, fasces, legiones, omnia, nunc se
continet atque duas tantum res anxius optat,
panem et circenses.

:D

We are all so clever.

I almost gave an awful, terrible one instead. I thought it would be mildly fitting.

Fine... I'll join in.

If you can dream---and not make dreams your master;
If you can think---and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

Maybe not the most amazing poem, but dammit do I love this verse (and the poem itself is one of my favorites).

They see me sleeping, they hatin', cause they know I am a new writer.
Anyway, to back to y'all's conversation . Goodnight.zzzz:moustache:

435001 oh you. You drew that other one out again... But yes, I loves that one quite dearly. :D
