Yes, I’m shocked too, but it’s true the story is off hiatus and the next chapter will be uploaded soon, or has already. Recently a random comment on the story was enough to light a fire under me and got me to finish what I started. Honestly, I think I was possessed by a writing demon, because when I set down to write that day I just didn’t stop. Over 3k words in one day, finished this chapter and starting on opening of the next. It was the most I’ve written in months. I for one, hope this writing demon rides my corpse into the ground.
But anyway, one reason it took so long to get this chapter out was problems with the plot, and like most plot problems with this story it involved the human world part of the story. See, the story is written in a way that I can’t focus too much on the human part, but that leaves it in this wired place. It’s likes trying to write a story in thirty words or less.
The problems with chapter 9 were that I had planned to have Twilight use her red mist magic. It was basically Twilight’s berserker mode she could move faster, was stronger, and all that good stuff. Here’s the problem: it didn’t matter. To the story at large it was the only time she would use this magic. It ended up becoming a lot of work to figure out how to force this scene in for little to no gain in the end.
My solution, remove it. Dear gods did that make it easier to write. Since I will not be using the red mist magic in the story now I have also removed its foreshadowing in chapter five and eight.
One last note: while the story is off hiatus don’t expect timely uploads, however, I will try to get the chapters out at a much faster rate.
