Mini Fic (Crystal War Timeline)

The Pegasus sat on the bed staring vacantly. What had been a cyan wing was now a stub. Dr. Sparkle entered the room. "I'm sorry, Commander Dash."

Dash closed her eyes. "I...I'll never fly again."

Dr. Sparkle laid a hoof on her shoulder. "There might be a way. Magical medicine still hasn't figured out how to mimic Pegasus wings, but we can do Flutterpony wings. Used to be temporary, but we can make them permanent now." She paused. "One of the test subjects, a Unicorn, did declare herself the Princess of Fashion and marched on Canterlot with an army of sentient clothes, but...well war stress gets to us all."

Dash made a face. "Flutterpony? That's a little...girly."

Dr. Sparkle raised an eyebrow. "Um, Commander, you're a girl. And the Flutterponies are the most feared fighters in the Alliance."

"Is there like, anything else?"

"We do have mechanical wings-"

Dash hopped off the table. "Seriously?! So I'd be like a cyborg?"

Twilight sighed. "If you're worried about losing your equinity-"

Dash jumped into the air, balancing with her one good wing. "Oh my goddess, that'd be awesome! Could I get like a red eye laser?"

"No. No you may not. Because those aren't real."

Dash came back down. "Aw..."

"I'll get the order for the mech wing ready. It'll be done in a week."

"Yay!"
