In terms of the fictional worlds...
Why is it that when characters throw fire or lightning, they get a pass... but when somebody discovers they can control ice, suddenly everybody reading/watching says that it "must be fragile and impractical for use"? What makes freezing an opponent in place or making water solid for a pathway more necessary to scrutinize for physics errors? Yet when you incinerate an enemy just by waving your fist like a normally angry person, that's not a reason to bat an eye and say "Hey! The guy using that fire would realistically burn himself too!"?
The double standards in nerd society, good grief...
Such hypocrisy
Does not give one intellect
It merely sounds rude
TL;DR: Ice powers can be awesome too!
