I'm sort-of back · 9:27pm Oct 19th, 2012

Hey, so I'm over my bout of crazy, and...

*sees number of people watching*

Did...did more people decide to watch after I deleted my stories?

Uh, anyway, I won't be writing/posting any new stories any time soon. However, for those of you that want, I'm more than happy to discuss what would have happened in the stories you guys (and girls?) liked. For whatever reason.

As for the reason for my sudden, uh...yeah...I have an extremely obsessive behavior, so for my own sake I have to keep my love of ponies at arm's reach. Not to mention just the awful, terrible epiphany I had from an ongoing forum conversation with a certain internet hatelebrity that I just couldn't stand any longer.

I'm still excited about the upcoming 3rd season and then watching the inevitable slow and painful death of the brony community as most pony fic writers go farther and farther away from the original source material found a healthier balance with school, work and everything else in recent days.

I still have a few things with my name on it floating about on the internet, but unfortunately my entire library of fimfiction stories, complete and incomplete; rated mature, teen and everyone; is no more.

Well, that's that.

Any questions?

i would have liked to see all the stories progress to their end

im a bit butthurt, actually, since i was promised endings (mostly because you published it in the first place)

ah well :I

endings would have been nice

let me be emo

433875
I wish to soothe your butthurt. Where would you like me to begin?

433879 bringing me some lube before you jam big things like this into me. I can take a lot of big things, but it still hurts a wee bit.

But enough innuendos. I would love to know where the stories WOULD have gone... also: will you be posting them elsewhere? Because they were nice to read/reread.

then watching the inevitable slow and painful death of the brony community as most pony fic writers go farther and farther away from the original source material

Don't you mean, even more so? Seriously, some people actually get pissed at the show for is not conforming to their entitled head canon/crappy favorite fanfic. That's sad.

Not to mention just the awful, terrible epiphany I had from an ongoing forum conversation with a certain internet hatelebrity that I just couldn't stand any longer.

I kinda want to know more about that, but I understand if you don't want to discuss it. Even if you simply want to vent, I'll listen. But, I'll drop it if you want.

Any questions?

Did you even get around to finishing that one HiE fic? You know, the one with Rainbow and Fluttershy? I kinda want to know what happens. Also, are you going to finish your first riff?

433880
Make a list of which stories, whether I'll respond here or in PM.

will you be posting them elsewhere? Because they were nice to read/reread.

I literally deleted them. They don't exist on fimfiction as unpublished or gdocs as files or my C:drive as documents. They have ceased to be but images playing in my head.

433910 i am really sad, now. DSP was one of my favourite stories. //dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Lyra_cry.png

ehn... DSP:A, and...
Fuck. I forgot names. :<

"Did...did more people decide to watch after I deleted my stories? "
This is probably because people were hoping that you would re-post your stories, so if they weren't watching you before but were reading your stories, this way they can know when you re-post them.

"As for the reason for my sudden, uh...yeah...I have an extremely obsessive behavior, so for my own sake I have to keep my love of ponies at arm's reach. If you feel you really need to, then there's nothing wrong with ending a hobby, but I think lots of people would like to see your stories re-posted even if you never work on them again. What's more important though is this really crappy epiphany you've had. If you need to talk to someone about it, there's more than a few people both willing and capable of helping you with that stuff, whatever it is. Certainly more helpful than talking with a sentient singularity of hate.

I would like you to please re-up your stories. You can take however long you like to update, or even not update at all if that's what you want, but I'd at least like to be able to read what you had.

Also, if you decide to re-upload but not update anything, would you be okay with others finishing your stories?

433905

I kinda want to know more about that

Mark Twain said it best: “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”
If you're ever around FIMchan, you can figure it out. I can PM you fuller details.

Did you even get around to finishing that one HiE fic? You know, the one with Rainbow and Fluttershy?

Are you asking about the sequel where Dewey/Kevin comes back with his gf Fiona ("The Pony, the Brother and the Everfree Forest")? Or the one bumbling HiE I wrote called "Prances with Ponies"?

Also, are you going to finish your first riff?

I'll wait till after RatherHomely gets better with his stuff.

433920

ehn... DSP:A, and...
Fuck. I forgot names. :<

DSP and Anniversay's popularity has always been a bit troubling for me. I earnestly tried my best to make it something that I'd be interested in reading but the overall message that the "series" ran on was just so upsetting. I'm willing to admit that writing them was an ongoing effort to wax a turd. By the way, the initial idea I had for DSP was so far and away from what happened, it's one of the unpublished stories I planned to put as DSP: Director's Cut

You want me to post the "spoilers" here on this blog post?

433923

This is probably because people were hoping that you would re-post your stories, so if they weren't watching you before but were reading your stories, this way they can know when you re-post them.

I guess I'll be frank about it and say it's my selfish privy as the author to deny people that. It's a strange compliment to read how others enjoyed what I wrote that they'd do that.

sentient singularity of hate

Saying the dude's sentient is a bit of a stretch...reading what he writes and sincerely believes about life and people seriously struck me in a pretty powerful way. If you're aware of the term, he is literally an American hikikimori

433946
Um...433910 Yeah...

Which makes it pretty difficult for others to get any sort of source, but I would love love love to see what other people write! I'd be happy to explain stuff when needed.

433961

If you're ever around FIMchan, you can figure it out.

I was for a little bit, but from that quick little time I was there, I can imagine.

I can PM you fuller details.

I would be okay with that.

Or the one bumbling HiE I wrote called "Prances with Ponies"?

Yeah, that one. If you don't mind, that is.

433961 I honestly never felt that it ran on. Mostly because I "run on" for some of my fics.

Whatever is easier for you. PM's, here, your choice.

433961

Eek. Well, crap.:raritycry::raritydespair:

Would have liked to be able to dl Prances with Ponies, at least.

433979
Yeah, I finished "Prances with Ponies" and went on to make a sequel, as per the previous response. What's the last thing you remember reading about?

433982
The last chapter I wrote was Twilight showing up and Spike being more cognizant, I think.

Well, the next chapter was called "Secrets Abound."

First a flashback: A filly Starla defends Clydesdale from her upset father, what's-his-name, when he realizes that the colt is the friend she had been talking about when she described how she got her cutie mark. Clydesdale, it turns out is the son of a stallion named "Penny Pincher" but nothing is said beyond how terrible a brute this pony is. After Clydesdale tries to say that he isn't his father, Starla's dead charges but she gets in his way. He stops and in response to the dad's attempt to say that he's trying to protect her, Starla does the smart thing and points out that he did a good job to protect the mom. (BTW he didn't) The dad is visibly upset and sulks away, and Starla is remorseful and leaves with her dad.

Then the main story begins in a hide out, I didn't plan on saying where but it was of another one of Windfall's allies. I think I was going to make him Windfall's brother. In any case, the scene is set by a few mob grunts sitting around, discussing all these rumors about what happened to Honeybuzz. With snappy one-liners and witty remarks put in, one of the grunts mentions Geyser Cozy. All of them start talking about the crazy stuff Geyser Cozy is said to be involved with, and whether he had anything to do with the violence that left Honeybuzz in a coma and all of his goons dead. The only exception is the one person's OC that was knocked out and has been held in a mob-controlled hospital for questioning.

But then, Spike bursts in and just starts tearing the place up. It was going to be a gory, violent, one-sided massacre as he also began sucking up lots of the unicorns' magic. Then, after a sort of skip, the narrative has Spike interrogating a grunt who he kills by crushing his skull under his foot. Very messy. Then he picks the dead pony and throws him onto a pile, then looks to the group of terrified survivors and picks out the boss (didn't come up with a name) who is disguised as a goon. After being outed by the others, Spike takes the boss and starts interrogating him, going Old Boy on him as he tries to find out "who wanted my wife kidnapped?"

Then a skip to Spike at the table with Rarity, eating breakfast with Starla looking on a bit nervously at how tense everything is. Rarity is upset, but in a huffy way as Spike is a bit snarky
Rarity: Where have you been the last few nights?
Spike: Oh, you know, pillaging...raping...mostly guys
Rarity: So you admit that you've been cheating on me, then?
Spike: Oh, all the time!

That sort of stuff then Spike heads upstairs for a nap.

Skip to the palace garden where Rarity, Spike and Twilight are going over plans for the surprise party for Mayor Mare and Twilight finds it difficult to deal with the sudden turn around between the duo that was just about ready to do it in front of her the other day.

Then skip to later that night and Spike and Rarity are in bed. Spike prods at Rarity that he wants to do it, Rarity tries to withhold. Stuff like she has a headache. Spike is snarky about it and presses on but Rarity really tries to "stop" him and says that "it'll be non-consensual" but really, she secretly wants it, because clop. ANYWHO! Spike is then intrigued by this challenge but just when Rarity thinks he's going to continue, NOPE! he leaves the room and heads over to Starla's room.

The perspective then changes back and forth between Spike/Starla and Rarity as Spike fakes it with Starla loud enough for Rarity to hear through the wall while really prodding Starla for info with what's going on. Starla and Spike take turns making noises and whatnot while actually talking about the fact that Spike doesn't remember much and that there's something that doesn't feel right with how Rarity is while Starla says she's confused as to what is going on with how different Spike is acting from since she first met Rarity. Meanwhile Rarity has a solo session which eventually involves Spike's pillow and after finishing she goes to sleep upset that he didn't "take her forcefully."

And that would have been the next chapter of DSP: A. Shall I go on?

434008

I know you're sincere but it's just a strange thing to read that. I'm sure lots of other ponyfic writers would be too.

Are you saying that you would've tried to continue the story? I'm guess the Prances with Ponies sequel? Because the ending I had planned for that was probably going to upset a TON of people.

434031

What's the last thing you remember reading about?

I never really got to finish it before beginning the sequel. The ending with that one, and maybe the summery of the sequel, if you don't mind please.

First off: you still have all of your fanfics saved somewhere, right?

Second: Might I make a suggestion?
Would you be able to create a separate alias on g-docs where you can put all of your stories up?

It'd be a shame to see someone with your talent not getting recognized in some way.

Also, I must have missed something here; why exactly did you take all of your awesome stories down? I really would have liked to read the continuation to "Prances with Ponies".

434031 I kept thinking that Spike would have snapped and broke up with Rarity... but yes, continue. You aren't continuing the story, no reason to hold back. If I could, I would totally continue the story.

My stories all have Sparity in some manner. The story was a break from my Sparity norm.

434051
Because the temptation was too great. Also, the stories are forever deleted.
I find the amount of awareness from all of you is good enough. I'm a closet brony so it's not like there's anyone else to find praise from.

I can add my two bits to anyone who wants to continue their own interpretation and at the same time I'm explaining what I had planned with my stories.

434031 I didn't know about the sequel, I'd only read the first one :rainbowhuh: But, I'd read all of that.

[edit] I'm sure I'd be willing to put my hand towards trying to finish the Prances with Ponies sequel, if I can read what you have, but I'm not exactly the most 'stick-with-it' kind of writer. I think I have some sort of ADD.

434046

The end of "Prances" involves Kevin finding his brother's abandoned camp in the Everfree Forest and he has a feels moment. Then, after being dragged by Rainbow to Fluttershy's cottage, Kevin reveals what happened to his brother, Liam. Then Kevin cries himself to sleep and Rainbow stays by his side. However, Rainbow is woken up later that night and Kevin is gone, so she goes to search for him and is buffeted by what she thinks is some monster and bright lights and Kevin then disappears.

Then from Kevin's perspective, he's in the hospital and is told that a rescue team had found him. (The monster and the lights was from the helicopter). Kevin's parents are happy he's back and give him some time to talk with the FBI agent that's waiting outside in the hallway. Then after much discussion with the FBI agent involved in his search, Kevin is given the journal he had been writing in throughout the story and his brother's. Kevin thinks everything was a dream from when he got lost in the woods and ended up in the place he was found, but then discovers a yellow and blue feather tucked into the binding of his journal.

I'll start summarizing the sequel next.

434074 ...you seriously didn't even have a backup anywhere? :'{ That was my favorite HiE story ever... :(((((

434108
I deleted the backups. I thank you for liking the story that much, from the bottom of my heart.

434095
I'd rather people take their own interpretation and run with it. Obviously no one will have what I had in mind without my input and it's more exciting to see other perspectives. However as I've stated my fimfiction stories are no more.

434120 But I don't really have an interpretation of the sequel, as I hadn't read it. If I was to continue it from where I know I would be starting the sequel with my own concept, which is something I wouldn't really care for. No, I'd rather start my own HiE story instead at that point.

434116 *sigh* :fluttercry:
So any reason why you are a closet brony? Or is it just with certain people that you try to hide it from?
Because pretty much the only people that don't know that I'm a brony are my parents, my sister, and my boss.

434054
My explanation is going to be a lot broader because I didn't really get around to thinking up in detail what happened after "Secrets Abound", save for the last chapter and epilogue.

At some point Windfall starts to make his move by visiting the OC pony bodyguard in the mob-run hospital. The OC pony describes what he remembers. Windfall then checks on Glam, whose mind is pretty broken but she's slowly getting better. In essence she has moments of clarity but is a mumbling, scatterbrained mare the rest of the time. Windfall then wonders if his "dear brother" has anything to do with what's happening.

Preparations continue with Mayor Mare's surprise party. And, uh...stuff. Twilight starts talking with Starla and the maid nearly lets slip what's going on with Rarity.

The three stallion that had their way with Glam show up again, this time with their boss, Geyser Cozy.

Continue?

434130
Yeah, that'd make more sense.

434132
Uh, yes.

434138

I did like some elements that you threw into Prances with Ponies that weren't in other HiE fics, and I'll probably take inspiration from that. In fact, typing this up, I just thought of an interesting concept for an HiE that I'll probably do. My biggest problem is that I've never been able to finish stories that I start, so if I ever finish it, consider it my tribute to you.

434046
Alright, for the sequel, um...

It's been 3-4ish years since the first story and Kevin shows up out of the blue with a beard and Fluttershy is all
t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTHTXaEN3gSoAG6EqakyOX5MjvYCtUvpyihg1Z7u8hkv6Wi2pMf1-HrJuslyw
but then a human girl appears and she's Kevin's gf!

So essentially things keep getting awk-weird at several points. Fluttershy goes

when Kevin introduces Fiona as his gf, and after offering tea (which is watery and not steeped well) and blueberry scones (turns out Fiona has blueberry anaphylaxis) Fluttershy just resigns herself to help Kevin with editing the manuscript for his next book.
Twilight shows up and learns what had been happening with Fluttershy while Kevin (who, after shaving his beard, was tackled by an upset RD for not being made aware of his recent visit.) and RD head out to do some explorin' at the Everfree Forest. During Twilight and Fluttershy's discussion it's revealed that Fluttershy has been appointed the royal animal caretaker at the castle. She had gotten much better at dealing with animals and managed to befriend the aloof creatures at Canterlot.

Kevin and RD talk about what's been going on, explaining what happened with that "monster" and how Kevin started working at a vet's office and his book about his time in Equestria was a meager success. Then they fight a Manticore that's attacking a pony. That pony is actually Scootaloo who fights large beasts for training because she's a Wonderbolt. While not part of the racing team, she's noted for being the youngest member and part of the combat division. Or course, Dash has managed to become Vice-Captain. Also, Kevin was actually struck by the Manticore's poisoned tail and starts freaking out, much to Scootaloo and Dash's dismay. Scootaloo manages to grab a flower to knock Kevin out and they bring him to Zecora's where she again makes a remedy for Kevin's serious illness. Kevin wakes up, slightly delusional and mistakes the figure at his side for Fiona. He leans in to embrace her but Dash manages to push him off of her. Kevin apologizes for his freak out and then he and Dash decided to pull a tiny prank on Scootaloo.

All the while, other humans are roaming about the Everfree Forest...

Meanwhile Fiona wakes up in the upstairs bedroom, mistakenly thinking Kevin's at her side...after an incident that totally didn't happen, she talks with Fluttershy about stuff like confirming the stuff that Kevin talked about with Equestria and the like. Then Twilight shows up and uses a translation spell so she can speak with Fiona and then chat a bit. Twilight offers to cook something and excited heads downstairs to get started on "her first time cooking for somepony else."

Things get a bit quiet between Fluttershy and Fiona but then Rainbow Dash zooms in and quickly says how Kevin got hurt again but he's alright and she's borrowing a camera and then she zooms away.

After getting back to the cottage, a tired Kevin checks up on Fiona and the two of them chat a bit. Applejack then shows up at the cottage the following day, hollering about how a "Two Legged Beast" has appeared in Ponyville and she thinks Kevin is back...when she realizes that he's right there at the cottage with another human.

Fluttershy, AJ, Kevin and Fiona rush over to Ponyville where they find an emergency clinic set up with the "Two Legged Beast" inside. Twilight appears and she, Fluttershy and AJ try to settle the panicked townsponies down while Kevin and Fiona go inside to see this Two Legged Beast. Inside, Kevin meets with the doctor who treated him before and he's shown to an old and heavily bandaged man named (Forgot first name) Shellinger, who Kevin refers to as "Professor" There are other humans that need rescuing, who are Shellinger's TAs and Kevin rushes off with AJ and Dash over to the Everfree and finds a bunch of them petrified (cockatrice attack.) After they're all safe at the emergency clinic, Kevin and Twilight try to ease the townsponies and Kevin has some fun much to Twilight's objections.

"Somepony should tell the princess!"
Twilight: "Don't worry, she already knows! Kevin is harmless! Introduce yourself, Kevin."

"My name is Kevin. Rather than 'Two Legged Beast' I would prefer to be called a 'Bi-pedal terrestrian'. In my native language, my name translates to 'System of Organizing Library Books.'"

Twilight: "..."

The following day at the library, Twilight reveals how Spike is no longer at the library, and is on a diplomatic mission for Princess Celestia with the dragons. He arrives the following day and the bunch of them (Twilight, Spike, Kevin) have a smarty convention while Fiona is dragged by Rarity over to the spa.

Spike, now a drake, tried to figure out why he was able to understand Kevin all those years ago and took up Celestia's offer to be Equestria's ambassador to the dragons. None of the dragons he spoke to could understand Kevin's language, but it was hinted that the elder dragons may know but most if not all of them are asleep. Spike learned a bit more about the dragon migration, that while there is a yearly one that a decent number of dragons take part in, a large one that includes even the oldest dragons occurs every three or four years.

Kevin wonders if that has anything to do with his coming to Equestria, explaining the time he first arrived, time he left, and second time he's in Equestria now all coincide with that period.

Kevin visits Professor Shellinger at the hospital, where he and the other recovering humans are kept under tight watch by royal guards. Shellinger remarks how much more amazing Equestria is than Kevin described in his book. Kevin is more concerned with why the others are here. He explains his theory about the dragon migration and Shellinger asks "why would we ever want to leave?" and starts to talk about how he and the others were inspired with Kevin's story, how there are many others back on Earth that wish to go to Equestria to escape the hardships to find "paradise."

Kevin is defensive about this, saying that the book was meant to change things back on Earth for the better. Shellinger counters that that's a fool's errand, how humanity is doomed to make the same mistakes despite Kevin's amazing tale for an "alternative life" and view of the world, that of the Equestrians.

Kevin uses Apploosa as an example of how things can be made better on earth, Shellinger says that Apploosa is proof that happiness by those who've "seen the light" can only be found in Equestria. Kevin becomes increasingly worried and tries again and again to state what the intent was of writing his book. Realizing that his interpretation is different from Kevin's, Shellinger remarks that "Liam would do the right thing."

Barely able to restrain his flash of anger, Kevin quietly leaves Shellinger's hospital room.

434166
Sweet. Lemme know when you get stuff done!

434227

Continue?

Yes, please! :raritystarry:

434315
Forgot about a side plot: over the last few years, an earth pony stallion's been trying to court Fluttershy. He and Kevin don't get along very well when he knocks on the door and asks to see her to give her a gift and he leaves when Kevin says Fluttershy isn't home. That happened the day Kevin arrived again in Equestria.

As a sort of teaser, when the other humans are revealed, roaming about the Everfree, it's noted that a couple of them spot a cottage far away and the narrative then notes that a frantic knocking calls Twilight toward the door when she arrives to help Fluttershy with editing the manuscript. It turned out to be the earth pony who leaves the present as a kudos for Fluttershy's appointment to royal animal caretaker since he can't attend the officiating ceremony the following week because of his sister's wedding.

Alright, so after angrily leaving Shellinger, the following day Twilight arrives at the cottage with a letter stating that Princess Celestia wants to meet with Kevin and Fiona. Kevin is surprised and Twilight adds that Celestia will actually go to Ponyville.

Somehow Mayor Mare catches wind of this news and makes a whole event of it when Celestia arrives on a chariot. Dragged out to be part of the welcoming committee are Kevin, Fiona, Fluttershy Twilight, Spike and Mayor Mare with the other administrator ponies.

Fiona doesn't know how she's supposed to act since she's never met royalty. Kevin remarks how he's only met one other princess. Asking who it was, Kevin says that Fiona's his princess. Fiona blushes and Fluttershy pretends to ignore the comment. Rarity is in the background of ponies with AJ and RD, excited that her first Human-tailored dress is on display on Fiona, which by wearing it, doesn't help with her anxiety. Fiona chides Kevin about his comment, not wanting to be mistaken as a princess and then expected to do all the princess-y things or asked to display whatever customs that she's supposed to know about.

Twilight is surprised to see Luna arrive with Celestia and Luna explains how its mandatory for her to be there as well to meet with foreign dignitaries (Kevin and Luna) and she switches to old Equestrian whenever speaking with Kevin. He is completely baffled as to what Luna is saying and Fluttershy acts as interpreter. Kevin grimaces about how Luna speaks normally with everyone except him.

Mayor Mare brings everyone to the town hall where they (Kevin, Twilight, Spike, Celestia) talk about Spike's findings and Kevin's theory, in addition to things in general about Kevin. Meanwhile Luna and Fiona are given info about the discussion in real time by Fluttershy as they sit to the side.

Celestia determines that it's important for Kevin to go along with Spike when he goes back to the dragons. Twilight says she'll go too. Fluttershy and Fiona both strongly volunteer despite everyone else's initial hesitation to the idea. As everyone leaves to start for their journey to the South East (according to that one Equestria map where "Dragons be here") Celestia takes Kevin to the side and asks about the other humans currently in Equestria and if there was anything she had to be concerned about. Kevin says they are not dangerous but wants them to be kept to their rooms or at most the wing of the hospital they were in. The fact that he doesn't want them to openly walk around is somewhat disconcerting but Celestia is understanding and hopes Kevin can be more open about it when he's comfortable. She offers for the humans to reside in Canterlot for the time being and assures that they'll be well "looked after" Kevin says ok.

Making their way southward, the Mane 6 + Spike and Kevin and Fiona take about a week, walking by day and camping by night since I guess taking chariots would be too easy, or something. I dunno. Anyways, on the night before they arrive at their destination Fiona happens to be woken up and decides to whisper ["I love you"] to Kevin and goes to sleep. While still asleep, he responds in Equestrian, "I love you too, Fluttershy."

The group arrives at where the oldest dragons are reported to be sleeping, following the towering plumes of smoke that have darkened the skies in the area. After some difficulty, they manage to speak with a very large dragon named, I dunno, Scar, or something? Anyway he also happens to have a very large scar over his right eye and it trails across his snout. After a lot of their effort Kevin managed to wake him up by yelling at him.

Scar regards the group and asks "You know of the old tongue?" He then notices Kevin and Fiona and calls them "Children of Georgios." Scar tells the tale of the first migration, which he was a part of, from the Old World where they had been hunted to near extinction after centuries of free reign. It was one man named Georgios who had managed to help a great number of dragons to escape through the mountains into a new land. After centuries of living in Equestria the several new generations forgot the Old Tongue but retained the tradition of the Great Migration in celebration of their escape from extinction. It has only recently taken on the purpose of a dragon's reaching adulthood.

The group then comes upon a few of the dragons that Spike had been living with as Equestrian Ambassador and a female drake who Spike didn't see before confronts Kevin, asking if he was Liam's brother. She mentioned that she heard of Spike asking others if they knew every saw anyone described like Kevin and spoke his language. She then gives him a diary written on patches of leather tied together and it is a continuation of Liam's story.

In the diary, Liam explains how he nearly died in the Everfree Forest but somehow made his way over to where the dragons were. He came under the proverbial wing of an older dragon that knew the Old Tongue and he lived with the group of which the female dragon is a part of. It's here that it's revealed that Liam was once Shellinger's student but they parted ways because their different views, Liam decided instead to travel and find examples of hope that things aren't the way his former teacher sees.

Kevin explains to the others how Shellinger approached him after hearing about Liam's disappearance and Kevin's miraculous rescue, which was reported on the news. After hearing his story, Shellinger pushed Kevin to write his book and then offered his help with a second book. Kevin asks the female dragon where his brother was, then she shows Kevin the burial mound that Liam was laid to rest in, along with several other dragons after a skirmish with a rival group of dragons. (This chapter is called "Les Misérables")

After paying their respects, the group make their way back to Equestria and specifically, Canterlot.

In Canterlot, Shellinger and the others have recovered for the most part and are walking around. They are confronted by a few ponies led by a unicorn stallion named Windfall, who is most intrigued to hear about the humans' world.

With the end of the current Great Migration coming near, the group arrive at Canterlot for Fluttershy's appointment as royal animal caretaker the following day. The night they arrive, everyone is tired but Fiona reports to Shellinger. After hearing his student's explanation, Shellinger is unconcerned with the news of Liam's death, which somewhat takes Fiona off guard. The old man is much more interested in having another of his students to talk to Windfall. When Fiona asks who that is, Shellinger dismisses her concern and tells her to keep watch on Kevin. Feeling slighted, Fiona asks again who Windfall is as well as to what happened to his concern about Kevin's sanity when Shellinger approached her saying he was worried about his mental state. Mentioning Shellinger's claim that Kevin was beginning to spout nonsense and that Kevin thought what he wrote was all real, Fiona approached Kevin, who was working in her father's vet office, about it.

Kevin went on to explain about his time in Equestria and his sincerity got through to her. It wasn't until they ever reached Equestria that she really was able to believe Kevin.

Shellinger says simply "isn't it good that he isn't crazy? Well, it helps that he has you for an outlet, my dear."

"What are you talking about, Professor?"

"You've made it known what it is you see in Kevin, but did you ever once think what it was he saw in you? You remind me of a character from a book I read. One of my favorite's, actually."

And he tosses his copy of Kevin's book to Fiona. She looks through and notices all the passages mentioning Fluttershy highlighted. She begins to think about all the times she talked with Fluttershy and how alike they seemed to be (works with animals, similar mannerisms, similar hair style) and how close Fluttershy and Kevin were.

I only know one thing for sure: you win all the points for inventive use of available materials. I'm having Iron Chef flashbacks:
>You know, when I saw him put the brain in the ice cream maker I thought he was crazy. Now that I've tried it, though, it's really good! I wonder if I can talk the wife into making some at home....

Actually, I know one other thing: I have to dock you some points for getting my hopes up that I could assemble a ragtag band of readers and have a grand piratey adventure to find the Lost Files of Type--yes, I am thick; why do you ask? :scootangel:

Still, closure's a good consolation prize.

So the appointment ceremony goes on in Canterlot and all is well. Kevin notices that Fiona is acting strangely but she tells him its nothing. Despite that he continues to be suspicious when he spots Shellinger and the other humans at the ceremony. Kevin confronts them and a fight nearly breaks out between him and one of Shellinger’s students, but they excuse themselves from the party.

Shellinger reveals that Fiona is one of his students. Kevin is skeptical, but then notices how one of the students is not present; Shellinger brushes off Kevin’s paranoia, saying that the student is resting, but Kevin remains unconvinced. Fiona arrives and Kevin leaves with her and in private tries to find out if what Shellinger was saying was true. Fiona admits that it is, because Shellinger is a friend of her dad’s. Fluttershy finds them, worried if something was going on. Kevin lies, saying that everything was alright and returns to the party; Fluttershy plays along, easily able to see Kevin’s tells (he doesn’t speak in Equestrian and talks a bit faster than usual). Fluttershy then tries to ask Fiona, but she is politely rebuffed.

Back in Ponyville, Rainbow visits the cottage while Kevin and Fluttershy left to meet with twilight. Fiona is at the cottage and thinks that RD is looking for them, but RD reveals that she saw what happened between Fluttershy and her from afar and presses Fiona about it. Their argument gets heated, especially since they barely can speak each others’ language. Fiona spends her time letting out her frustrations about how she’s jealous while RD points out how she sees Kevin as a brother and wouldn’t hesitate kicking Fiona to the curb if it didn’t make Kevin upset.

With their fight unresolved, RD flies away and Fiona decides to leave Equestria and head into the Everfree Forest.

On their way back, Kevin notices RD overhead flying away from the direction of the cottage. They let her go and find the cottage unoccupied. Fluttershy asks her animal friends and they tell her that fiona left. Fluttershy and Kevin rush to find Fiona and spot the missing student talking with a few ponies. The tell tale sign of the translation spell makes Kevin wary and he overhears how the student just returned from “delivering something.”

Rather than pursue this, Kevin and Fluttershy go ahead to find Fiona and track her to the other side in a forested area on Earth. Kevin wants to know what’s been going on, Fiona admits she’s tired of being a substitute and Fluttershy unfortunately has no idea what’s going on. It’s raining heavily and none of the three are dressed appropriately so they take cover in a cave to wait out the storm. They talk out their issues and resolve to discuss their situation in greater detail after returning to Equestria.

When they arrive back at the cottage, they’re greeted by Scootaloo and the other Crusaders saying that even more humans have arrived. They head to Ponyville where a crowd has gathered. Royal guards are keeping the gawking ponies and groups of humans apart. The humans are composed of regular-looking people and tv crews and reporters. Shellinger is also there and spots Kevin and the others, calling them out and directing everyone’s attention toward them and says that Kevin is the “[Fine man who first made contact with the] Equestrians [in the name of all humanity!”

Both human and pony reporters descend upon him and the others, asking questions and taking pictures and shining the bright lights of the tv cameras on him.

“[Is-is that a live feed?]”

“[Yeah! You’re on tv and the internet right now!]”

Several days pass and predictably enough various government agencies and representatives begin appearing in Equestria. The Royal Guard and the Wonderbolts are called in to keep peace in the area outside of Ponyville near the Everfree Forest where the humans have been allowed to be. There’s a constant flood of regular people, fans of Kevin’s books, that try to sneak into Equestria while the various Earth government reps press to meet with Equestrian leaders. Kevin is divided between acting as an interpreter, in order to keep Fluttershy and Twilight out of the media’s focus (though its difficult to keep the Equestria press away) and dealing with Shellinger who’s excitedly asking for press coverage and garnering attention.

Kevin learns about a tape made by Shellinger and his students that was snuck back to Earth while they were away, talking to the dragons. Kevin tries to make his case that there is a limited window for travel because of his Migration theory but Shellinger refutes it, making up BS and making the situation all the more difficult.

At Canterlot, Kevin, Twilight, the princesses, Spike and the Captain of the guard are strategizing as to what to do. Shining Armor and Princess Cadence have been informed of the situation through correspondence and they bring the Crystal Empire to high alert. Since he met up with the other humans, it’s become impossible to shut Shellinger up without causing an incident.

They discuss the tape and how he and his students must have managed to get out of Canterlot in the first place when the Captain mentions how Windfall, a crime boss from Baltimare, has been very active recently. Kevin talks about seeing the student meeting with a couple of unicorns in the Everfree when he and Fluttershy chased after Fiona. Twilight is dismayed when she hears how they were using a translation spell and says that she wrote a dissertation on the spell and is apologetic for what’s happened.

No one blames her, of course. It’s decided that Spike will head to the dragons and act as the messenger between them and Equestria and to find out exactly when the current Migration will end. Twilight, meanwhile, will be in charge with dealing with human-pony relations, partnered with Kevin.

Several politicians make an audience with the princesses. Kevin is in attendance to help with translations. Twilight is busy giving Shellinger the run around to keep him from acting as a spoiler. She holds a conference and then has Pinkie Pie help her waste as much time as possible. Dash joins in, leading the Wonderbolts in an impromptu aerial show and the distraction works for the most part on the general human group there. Shellinger has one of his students check up on what’s going on with the help of Windfall’s grunts. Fiona secretly trails them.

Arriving in Canterlot from his sister's wedding in Neighagra Falls, the Earth pony is unaware with what is going on. He takes the opportunity to head to the garden, thinking that Fluttershy may be there.

After hours of talks, the human representatives head to their guest rooms in the palace and Kevin is relaxing in the garden, when he runs into the earth pony stallion. Their interaction is tense at first, but they slowly warm up to at least the level of neutral acquaintances.

The student sent by Shellinger had been in unrequited love with Fiona for the longest time. Jealous of Kevin for not only being her boyfriend but being able to live amongst the Equestrian’s, Shellinger’s student literally stabs Kevin in the back. Windfall’s thugs follow up with knocking the earth pony out and they set up the crime scene.

The discovery of the scene by Fiona sparks a scandal, but what she has to say about Shellinger’s student and the ponies she saw him with are ignored, save for the fact that ponies were somehow involved, by the human press when they catch wind of it. The Equestrian press say that its all done by the humans. The rhetoric heats up even as Celestia manages to use Twilight’s translation spell to talk to the humans and tries to calm the situation down. Despite the calls for calm and reason, more humans are pushing their way into Equestria from a mix of indignation toward the ponies or in defense of them and the Royal Guard and Wonderbolts are hard pressed to keep control. The humans use their own force to try to keep the peace, which sparks more anger from what some humans see as a betrayal of them for the ponies.

At a Canterlot hospital, Kevin is in critical condition and Fiona, the Mane 6 and Zecora are doing their best to help him out. The earth pony is held in another part of the hospital for questioning but Fluttershy manages to help persuade the Guard and the Wonderbolts (after calming a furious RD and upset Scootaloo) of his innocence. A royal courier arrives from the palace carrying a letter from Spike that says there’s only a few days left of the Migration. However, the letter was delayed because of the incident.

A hospital worker overhears this and passes the info along to a friend and this eventually leads from pony to pony to Windfall, who informs Shellinger. Shellinger then reveals this to the human media. A panic happens amongst the humans of those that want to stay and those that want to go back home. Within the chaos Shellinger and his students and Windfall’s thugs start a fight which leads to a riot between humans and ponies.

The gate between Equestria and Earth closes and the humans are stranded; tv cameras, cell phones, all electronics lose their connections.

Epilogue

While being the place of his birth, Pip never really considered Trottingham his “hometown”. No, that honor would have to go to another place in Equestria he had moved to when he was just a foal. Despite being smaller and a bit more rural, Ponyville was the place of his childhood. Where his friends were...until it became too dangerous to stay there a few years ago and he and his parents moved back to Trottingham.

Just looking out the grimy windows of the town watch station would fail to show any signs of the fact that it was no less than a decade ago that a war ravaged all through Equestria.

A country of nearly unlimited space that was once a peaceful home to pegasi, unicorn and earth pony, Equestria was now a mess of vying areas that had been invaded by and dominated by foreigners.

Foreigners, who were so unlike the ponies that made use of the land, as well as both the magical and mundane wildlife and other creatures that had settled throughout the country.

With their technology, the foreigners made short work of the Royal Guard and the Wonderbolts, then very quickly changed the landscape. Glass paneled skyscrapers of incredible heights; roads paved and grasslands and other woods developed, pushing back nature as though it were simply an irritant. What had once been the great cities of Manehattan, Stalliongrad, Trottingham, Fillydelphia and Canterlot were now just hubs within a great expanse of city. What could only now be called the megalopolis of Equestria...

I told you about the ending in 434031, bro. I told you!

I don't suppose you'd be willing to say how DSP: A ended? Just out of curiosity.:twilightsheepish:

449960

At the end of 434136, Geyser Cozy and his crew (the three who ravaged Glam in the storage house) save the red-maned baker OC from a hit because she was there the night of Honeybuzz's downfall. Amidst Wrath, Shaman and (I forget his name, whoops!)'s attempts to pick her up, Geyser Cozy directs them to take the fight to Windfall and end the longstanding war that's been going on before the violence spills over even more.

In a flashback, from Geyser's perspective, a severely injured stallion is in a hospital bed and takes notice of his appearance. Recognizing Geyser, Quick Shot (or whatever Starla's dad's name is) angrily berates him and wants to know what happened to Starla. Geyser doesn't know what he's talking about, but outwardly is calm. He says he didn't do anything but will make sure she's safe and sound. Geyser then turns to leave, but before he does, Quick Shot growls out, "I swear when I get out of here I'll take you down. I knew you were no different than your father." And Geyser looks back over his shoulder and smirks and goes,

"Looking forward to it."

Story becomes present tense and Rarity is still sulking around the house, sometimes trying to irk Spike enough into anger to "punish" her while other times just sitting in the kitchen drinking wine, depending on her mood. Spike is getting pretty annoyed but ignores Rarity's weirdness and tries to figure out where to find Windfall with Starla (which makes Rarity even more moody and every so often she picks on Starla but is more or less chased away or finds some lame excuse to try to leave the house, which draws Spike's attention toward her.) For the past few days Spike has been attacking the illegal fronts that Windfall and his crew have set up around Canterlot, either through his sense of smell that's familiar to what drew him to find Rarity or the info he extracted from the goons that survived his attack.

All at the same time, Spike and Rarity are expected to keep working with Twilight as she sets up the surprise for Mayor Mare, which is coming up soon, at the palace. Starla's uncle Iron Sides (the stallion from "Find Me Maybe") shows up because he was the one who approached Twilight with doing the whole surprise, taking advantage of the fact that a Wonderbolts show is coming up and every member is expected to participate. Iron Sides takes Starla aside and tells her what happened to Starla's dad (his brother-in-law) thinking that she didn't know while trying to hide info that he thinks she isn't privy to already.

With Starla gone for the moment Rarity tries to overwhelm Spike with her powers of "seduction," almost embarrassingly so, and Spike plays along. Sneaking into an unused room they make sweet, slow, loving, at the end of which Rarity is in tears because that's the first time they'd ever done it like that (or at least, entirely different from the scene in the first chapter where she directed the whole thing).

In Windfall's estate at the outer edge of Canterlot, Geyser and his crew sneak in undetected. In a cool manner, while surrounded by a dozen bodyguards composed of griffons, Diamond Dogs and Drakes, Windfall greets Geyser Cozy, who is revealed to be an earth pony stallion, as "brother."

In the same bed they had snuck into, Rarity awakes with a startle and starts shrieking out, “HELP! HELP ME, PLEASE!” Woken up from her screaming and several kicks to the face and body, Spike grabs onto the flailing pony and she suddenly stops, taking deep, panting breaths.

He goes, “What’s wrong?”

And she goes “Spike? Spike is that you? I had the most terrible dream, and...” staring off she touches Spike’s arm with her hooves as though blind. “Oh no! I...I can’t see!” She says in a panicked manner.

Spike, at first concerned and worried, frowns then flicks at Rarity’ face with his other hand. “You’re being overdramatic.” He deadpans. She flinches then she stares daggers at Spike and whacks at him with her free hoof.

“You ass! You were really going to hit me, weren’t you?!”

“...you can see now, can’t you?”

Rarity then makes her own scowl and jerks her leg out of Spike’s grasp, crossing them over her chest and puffs out her cheeks. “Hmph!”

“You fuckin’ kidding me?”

“Hmph!”

Spike sighs and proceeds to caress her until she settles down somewhat. Then she plops onto the bed and turns to face away. Spike is irritated but then she says “hold me.” He does so. “Tighter.” He does so. “Never let go...”

Spike pauses for a moment but then goes “I gotta go take a piss at some point, you know.”

Ignoring the comment Rarity lets a tear trail down her cheek and fall onto her pillow while he can’t see her face and in the tiniest voice says “...please forgive me...”

--

Starla had just happened to find the room Spike and Rarity were in since she heard the screaming but lets them be, closing the door. As she walks down the hallway back to where the others are she sees Twilight approaching and she asks “Have you found them yet, Starla?”

“Um...they’re patching some things up.”

“Oh.” Twilight goes and blushes, understanding then the two unicorns head back to where they were planning the party. Twilight then goes on to tell a few stories about when Spike and Rarity first returned to Ponyville after their elopement and everyone’s reactions then asks Starla about how they are in recent times.

Starla starts off well enough but then nearly spills the beans again, getting into a rant. Twilight notices this but decides not to say anything, laughing politely and smiling whenever appropriate.

--

Geyser and his crew are facing off against Windfall and his dozen or so bodyguards. The mood between them is basically like between Liquid and Solid Snake as Windfall talks and talks and things get especially tense whenever he mentions their dad. Windfall openly talks about how their dad used to be a great crime boss until he met Geyser’s mom.

Geyser points out how he knows that Windfall is the one who had Quick Shot’s wife killed. Windfall laughs it off, saying it was a failed attempt to get Quick Shot for troubling their dad. Geyser points out that it was an attempt to get dad's attention, enraging Windfall for a moment but he manages to calm himself. Windfall then commends Geyser for his newfound wit. Geyser returns that he was quick to learn it after nearly being killed by an assassin sent by a certain brother.

Windfall smirks, mentioning how if a certain three goons had done their job, inferring that Wrath, Shaman and (Midnight? I dunno...) are the ones he’s talking about. They shrug off the comment, saying how they’re following their boss Penny Pincher’s last wishes. This manages to piss Windfall off and he bellows how he’s the boss now, not his half-brother, Clydesdale (Geyser). Just as he’s about to have his bodyguards attack, Glam bursts through the doors, levitating a number of swords and weapons and she spots the three that ravaged her.”

“YOU!” Then she attacks to which each of the three respectively defend and parry in their own cool way. Windfall issues the attack order and the bodyguards charge in. Clydesdale picks up one of the swords imbedded in the floor with his mouth and starts fighting through the three that go after him in a cool way. Meanwhile the other three stallions are fighting off their own sets of bodyguards while using the projectiles Glam is throwing at them to their advantage, whittling down the numbers against them. Seeing this, Windfall angrily throws Glam backwards into a bookcase with his telekinesis but is too late to get a sword to defend against Geyser. However the OC stallion bodyguard manages to block and parry Geyser.

Windfall, filled with bravado with the timely save, commands the bodyguard OC to attack, but he doesn’t. He states that that’s not guarding, pissing Windfall off and amusing Geyser by this logic. Geyser then throws down his sword, the bodyguard OC lowers his weapon then Geyser comments on how the OC is a “rare breed that my dad would’ve loved to make a made-stallion.”

This pisses off Windfall to no end but just before he can throw a number of projectiles out, Geyser and his crew bust out of the house through the tall floor-to-ceiling windows. While everyone but him and the bodyguard OC is dead (Glam is unconscious), Windfall screams out, “FIND HIM! FIND HIM AND KILL HIM AND ANYONE THAT HE TALKS TO!!!”

The bodyguard OC is too busy looking over Glam’s condition. Meanwhile, Windfall is going on about the kinds of torture he plans to do to Geyser and the three “traitors”

After hiding for the night Geyser and his crew are moving through the daytime crowds of Canterlot in an effort to draw whatever force Windfall gathers out of the city and hopefully into a less populated area. However, a voice calls out to them and its the red-maned baker mare, who wanted to thank them for saving her the other day.

She and the three stallions begin to flirt more and more obviously when Geyser suddenly tells Wrath to knock her out. They’re confused for a moment but Wrath follows Geyser’s orders just as a pegasus swoops down at them. (what’s his face) stops the pegasus dead cold. The gang are worried that she’s a honeypot. But Shaman would whine. “And you know how much I love honeypots, boss!”

Geyser curses and says that she was followed and the three a a bit more relieved. Geyser then tells them they have to hurry so they do, with the red-maned baker on Wrath’s back. Geyser peers through the crowd behind him and spots a pair of earth pony stallions pushing their way toward them.

Rarity, Spike, Twilight and Starla are at the palace when Pinkie, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash arrive. They all exchange greetings then Pinkie exclaims that Rarity has a clone (Reference to a season 3 plot) Rarity explains that Starla is her maid then Pinkie exclaims that Rarity made her clone into a maid. Then they excitedly greet Spike. The pegasi are helping to carry all of Pinkie’s party supplies while AJ will be over later with her catering.

The Mane 6 sans AJ all begin catching up and head over to the area where the party planning has been. Twilight points out several things to Pinkie and they have a few comical disagreements. Following behind them Starla and Spike talk a bit about what happened between him and Rarity. Starla braces for TMI and Spike rolls his eyes and explains how Rarity seems a bit different. Starla admits that she’s skeptical, listing off the fact that Rarity is crazy, good at acting, and not to mention is crazy. Spike ignores this for the most part.

As they head closer to the courtyard the group finds the palace abuzz and several guards and Wonderbolts are rushing about. Starla hurries to the front and manages to spot Iron Sides, asking what’s going on. He says hesitantly that fighting broke out in the city and everyone starts to chatter.

Princess Celestia then appears, asking for everypony not to worry. Twilight asks why they couldn’t just go along, Celestia then explains that she doesn’t want to interfere with their friend’s celebration and says that the guards and Wonderbolts should be capable enough.

Princess Celestia tells them that she’s supposed to meet the relative of an old friend of hers and that she wants them to be with her to greet him. Twilight and the others say of course. Toward the back of the group, Spike smells something familiar that gets him slightly upset, but he stays quiet. Noticing this hower, Rarity leans against him and strokes the back of his arm with her hoof, comforting him a bit. Celestia then dismisses Iron Sides and he flies off to join the other Wonderbolts (RD cheers him on to get the bad guys)

Celestia then asks if they’d like to come along with her. Twilight of course would say “It would be an honor to meet a friend of yours, Princess!” Following the Princess, the group are led to the throne room where a unicorn stallion is waiting. Celestia then happily greets the stallion while Rarity and Starla and to a lesser extent Spike (because the stallion’s smell is so familiar) are stunned to see Windfall turn to smile at them.

Celestia introduces Windfall as the descendant of a dear friend of hers and points out that Rarity should already know him. Rarity acknowledges this, taking on a haughty attitude and begins to passive-aggressively chat with Windfall. He returns in kind, while the other girls are a bit left behind what’s going on. Starla is quiet. Windfall tries to chat up Spike but he remains quiet and stares down Windfall. Windfall comments that he’s “talkative as usual.”

Twilight, curious, asks who Windfall is the descendant of and Windfall proudly boasts that his great ancestor is Princess Platinum. When no one seems to be as thoroughly impressed as he thought they’d be, Windfall then asks to begin his meeting with Princess Celestia, given that he’s the head chairpony of several committees. Before he and Celestia walk off Windfall throws a cryptic reference to Rarity about Glam and Honeybuzz which she, Starla and Spike understand.

Twilight and the girls head back to the courtyard and Rarity excuses herself for a moment, followed by Spike and Starla to the front of the palace to calm herself. As Rarity starts ranting about how irritated she is, half-listened to by Spike, Starla sees a group of ponies rush by, chased by several unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies. She recognizes the baker pony being carried by Wrath then she thinks she recognized the lead earth pony but dismisses the feeling.. However she recognizes the earth pony leading the second group. Spike confirms her suspicions when he steps forward, irking Rarity that she’s “not done complaining yet!” and he says that he smells someone familiar.

Looking the same direction as the others are, Rarity comments with half-interest how that’s Geyser Cozy and his group. Then she tries to grab Spike’s attention by telling him how when she first met Geyser he said that she looked like someone who he once loved. “You’re jealous, right? Right, Spike?”

Hearing this, Starla chases after them all. Weaving through the alleyways she manages to see every so often how Geyser and his group manage to lose their pursuers one after the other until only the earth pony from that underground room Rarity was kept is remains. Starla passes through various parts of Canterlot she knows because she used to work in several stores and shops before working for Glam then Rarity, passing by a few of her classmates until she manages to parkour up onto the rooftops to keep up with the others. Finally Geyser’s group are trapped in an alleyway and the bodyguard OC approaches them carefully, saying that they should give up.

After some witty banter of Geyser attempting to bring the OC over to his side but to no avail, Starla drops down and knocks the bodyguard OC out. Starla and Geyser stare at each other for a moment. Starla then asks if he’s Clydesdale and if he remembers who she is. Geyser gives a sad smile and says “I’m sorry that you have to hear it from me, but...Clydesdale is dead, Miss Starla.”

Before she could figure out what he meant, and why he knew her name if he wasn’t who she thought he was, Geyser and the others rush out of the alleyway, then several other ponies are chasing them. One of the ponies takes notice of Starla and stops to ask what she was doing. She tries to tell him nothing but the pegasus stallion mentions how he’s chasing a dangerous group and that its important she tell him “or else” but before he gets too close Spike drops down from the air, slamming the pegasus under his foot. Rarity is being carried in Spike’s arms princess style. She asks if Starla is alright (while still being carried) and Starla simply nods her head.

They then look over to the bodyguard OC groaning and waking up. After some “advanced interrogation” (Rarity began to tease but then Spike tightly grabbed hold of the OCs “exposed self”)

Rarity: Now, here’s my offer. I’ll pay you double what Windfall is paying you and you tell me what you know, or else.
Bodyguard OC: Or else what?
Spike: I turn you into a girl. (tightens his vicegrip for good measure)

They learn that Geyser made the first move and Windfall is no sparing no expense to hunt him down.

--

After letting him go, Rarity, Starla and Spike head back to the palace and Twilight happily greets them with info about Windfall’s lineage. She mentions that she found a book in the palace library about an agreement made between the founders of Equestria and the two wielders of Harmony that came to save the land from Discord. all the citizens of Equestria will be placed under their protection so long that the founders’ descendants aren’t made subjects to keep their lineage strong. (I dunno, I’ve been hammering away at this idea for a while and it’s still not fully thought through)

Twilight then notes that Starla’s mom and Windfall’s dad are distant cousins but Starla is a generation closer to Princess Platinum’s direct bloodline, unlike Windfall who is once removed through his dad, Penny Pincher (I dunno, like..whatever. Hate it or not, this probably wouldn’t have gotten into the final product, anyway.)

In any case the big day is tomorrow. Also, AJ finally shows up.

By all means.

454701

That night, while the others are catching up in the castle, Starla sneaks out and contemplates under the moonlight, looking at the stars and reminiscing about the time she got her cutie mark. She heads out of Canterlot, thinking over what's happened over the course of the story (the last few weeks) and she senses something. Rushing over, she finds a severely injured earth pony, recognizing him as the one who said Clydesdale was dead, but despite her attempt to have him admit who he really is the stallion passes out. Starla drags him back to the palace where he's taken care of.

The next morning, once he wakes up, Geyser at first mistakes Starla for Rarity then he and Starla talk about what's gone on, each of them hiding important facets (how Geyser is in a blood feud with his half-brother, Windfall, over the family name and Starla was, well...molested and nearly raped a few times.) Spike enters the room, relaying a message from Rarity since she doesn't want to drag her PFFs into her dark second life. Spike and Geyser talk openly about what's been going on, Starla finds out about Geyser/Clydesdale's involvement with what happened to her dad (retcon her dad's name to be Snapshot since I think that's what I wrote him as in-story). Geyser then says he needs to get out despite his injuries. When Starla tries to stop him, he explains that Windfall won't care about keeping still if it comes out that he's still alive after their fight. Starla begs him desperately that it'll be ok, Spike simply knocks Geyser out.

The party goes on in full swing, with friends and well wishers all arriving at the castle to celebrate Mayor Mare's last day as a single pony. She let her hair remain pink, astounding everyone with how she looks. Elsewhere in Canterlot the guys are having a bachelor's party for Iron Sides at a place called "Maggie's" (reference to Loyal2-1's clop-verse. Spike was somewhat hesitant to leave Rarity's side, but was eventually persuaded to since Maggie's is relatively close to the palace.

At the palace, Starla is carrying out her maid duties and helping with the party but is accosted by Windfall and his gang in the kitchen. Revealing that he has "eyes and ears everywhere" he demands Starla to tell him where Geyser is being kept. She stays quiet. Irritated, he leaves her to be "dealt with" by a couple of his goons while he takes the rest of his bodyguards to search the palace while keeping a low profile not to attract attention while everyone including Celestia is attending their respective parties. (Luna is asleep) Before anything serious happens, Geyser/Clydesdale saves Starla from the two eager bodyguards left with her. The two of them then try to sneak out of the palace, dealing with the bodyguards they run into but end up at the party.

Everyone mistakes Clydesdale to be the "entertainment" and try to egg him on, swarming him and separating him from Starla. Starla is panicked and tries to get Rarity to help her. Learning where Geyser/Clydesdale is, Windfall is too blinded by rage to stay hidden anymore and openly attacks, surprising everyone, including Princess Celestia. Assured of his "diplomatic immunity" Windfall proceeds to go after Clydesdale as his griffon/diamond dog/pony bodyguards are fended off by the others. Windfall is quite strong in magic, able to fend off Starla and rarity quickly and holds a stalemate with Celestia for a bit. He is positioned however to telekinetically send a knife after Clydesdale, but Spike catches it in his hand and snaps it like a twig. Initially seeming to be defeated, Glam removes her disguise as she was hiding within the crowd of party goers but instead of finishing off Clydesdale like Windfall signaled her to do she sends an attack toward Spike's direction and strikes him in the side, between his ribs. Spike sends her flying.

Then he collapses and Rarity, who was standing behind him, is somewhat in denial to what's happening. Starla realizes that the way he was standing there was no way to block, and if he dodged Rarity would have been hit.

In the original draft of a draft I had written out a scene that Spike died and there was a reference to when Spike rescued Rarity and she had to keep screaming at him to stop. In the dying scene she'd be screaming at him to not die, trying to offer her magic in an effort to have him heal himself or something. Spike and Rarity would tearfully exchange apologies for what they did to each other in DSP. Sort of like this. (I always thought that the English dub didn't do the scene justice.) though Spike would be a bit more of an ass about it, but sincere nonetheless in his confession about him loving Rarity.

"Isn't this how those...dramatic romance stories of yours always end? All...ugh...sad and shit...?"

"What part of our relationship has ever been a romance, you ass..." Rarity sniffed and smiled sadly. "We've done nothing but hurt each other...but no one else could ever understand what we've been through..." Slowly her smile dropped as Spike remained stiff in her forearms, his eyes unblinking. "...Spike...?" She asked with a quivering trepidation in her voice. "...Spike?" She shook him once. Then twice. Neither time did he seem to stir. "Spike...you ass, don't do this...it...it isn't funny." Rarity gulped and her body began to tremble, denial increasing as quickly as her sharper intakes of breath. "Spike, wake up. Wake up!"

Her eye brows furrowed, Starla approached the mare from behind and softly touched her hoof on the other pony's shoulder. "Rarity...I'm sorry...he's..."

"NO!" Rarity shrieked and brushed the hoof off of her. Ignoring the tears flowing down her face, making her mascara run, Rarity held the dragon in her grasp tighter. "NO! He's not! Sh-show her that you're not, Spike! LISTEN TO YOUR WIFE, DAMN YOU! ...darling? Wake up! WAKE...please...please, don't leave me, Spike..."

However now I think that the whole thing is pretty hackneyed though I shed hella tears when I first wrote it out. In the greater scheme of the story I don't think it would fit, since there are more holes in that idea than Chrysalis' legs.

Following that ending the Epilogue would take place years later when Rarity is sporting grey hairs in her mane. This is because she became the mayor of Canterlot and in the beginning of the scene she berates an intern for not placing a meeting with her PFFs at the top of her itinerary and after chasing the trembling younger mare off, Rarity screams for Starla Shine to fix things; that she was irritated that a noblepony was working for her. Starla, also older, explains that once upon a time her fashion school teacher gave a lesson about the importance sometimes of doing what a client needs and not exactly what she wants. Rarity quips that that's a dumb thing to say, knowing that she was the one who said it.

"Ugh. Can't I just fire her? You know how I feel about legacy brats."
"I'm afraid doing small favors like this is the only thing keeping the nobles from hounding you for all of your recent reforms, Madame Mayor."
"Starla, don't call me that when it's just the two of us."
"Acknowledged, Mistress."
"...better yet, the first one doesn't sound so bad, after all."
Starla chuckled while walking close at the other mare's side.

Starla then brings up her master itinerary list for Mayor Rarity about the meetings she has and how she cleared the whole schedule for tomorrow, since it would be Rarity and Spike's 25th.

"So...do you have anything planned for this year, Rarity?"
"Oh, just the usual. Eat two whole tubs of ice cream by myself. Speaking of which, make sure to buy the most expensive kind there is. You know, the one made for Princess Celestia?"
"Rarity..."
"There's gold shavings on top."
"RARITY!"
"What?"
"I'm serious, this is your 25th for goodness sakes!"
"...make it three tubs, then."
"UGH!"
"That third one's for you!"
"And once again, 'UGH!'"
"Well what do you expect me to do, huh? Knowing Spike I'm sure he'd be happy enough knowing I can't meet any other stallion without comparing them to him. Heck, not even some of the toys I have compare."
"You don't have to meet other ponies just for their dicks, you know?"
"Isn't that what you're for, then?"
Starla blushes slightly and sighs, knowing that even with kids and her loving husband Clydesdale she still has some feelings for Rarity.

Rarity explains that her yearly ritual is that she eats the ice cream at Spike's grave, leaving the second for him and "tells" him about everything that happened for that year. Not knowing this, Starla is a bit embarrassed. rarity waves it off and gives Starla a peck on the cheek. She then wonders if she can bring her friends along this year since it's supposed to be special then asks Starla to get five more tubs for each of the Mane 6 sans Rarity. Starla somewhat relents and makes a note of it.

---

Instead of all of that, I'll make something up on the spot right now.

Hmmmm, I guess after Spike collapses from the pain of getting hit, Rarity starts tearfully apologizing for everything. Spike then shuts her up and by kissing her then tells her to stop being over dramatic and that he knows and remembers and that they can talk about it when they're in private. Windfall and his gang is taken away, Starla and Clydesdale do stuff, the party kicks off once more.

Spike and Rarity sneak out of the party, now combined between the groom and bride's parties, and are frank with one another about what had happened in DSP. (At least, chaps 1-4) they realize that their whole marriage is a sham and decide to separate. Spike then asks Rarity if she'd like to go on a date, saying that he wants to take things one step at a time. She says yes.

SUDDEN BONUS STORY IDEA!

Glam is found outside of Canterlot by the bodyguard OC pony. He's on his way to look for his next job and sets up camp to tend to her injuries. When she wakes up, she's suffered amnesia and the bodyguard OC pony dances around the idea of telling her. Glam says that her dream was to become a fashion designer and feels that Canterlot is a bad place when he explains that she's from there. They then go to a road and decide to hitchhike. The first cart that comes by their way is being pulled by Shaman and Wrath and (what's his face) and the red haired baker mare are riding in the front. Recognizing each other they all then go off in search of adventure together.

End.

Nice, I especially like the bonus story idea; I always thought Glam got a raw deal, even if she was an evil bitch. It'd be fun to see how she'd react when/if her memory starts to return. I'm a complete sucker for that kind of drama, ridiculous as it may be.
I hope you start writing again, man, I loved your stories. I never even got to read that last Spike/Rarity fic you wrote.:raritydespair:
