I'm a brony and a Pinkie Pie fan but I like all of the mane six, as well as Spike. I hope to provide some entertaining and interesting fanfics for the Brony community.

    Episode Re-Review: Grannies Gone Wild

Well, Tell Your Tale finally decided to try to do something interesting, because the last episode showed Sunny's mom in a flashback. But they didn't even give her a name, let alone elaborate on what happened to her. And given the way Tell Your Tale progresses, I'm not expecting any follow-up anytime soon. Getting back to G4, Season 8 hit its first stumbling block only four episodes in, and the

Episode Re-Review: Fake It 'Til You Make It

Oh joy, it's back to Season 8. Season 9 has its fair share of detractors, but hardly anyone I know ever sings Season 8's praises, and for good reason. We now know that the School of Friendship was added at Hasbro's request because they wanted the show to wrap up with nine seasons, forcing the writers to change their plans for the pillars. About the only good thing to come out of Season 8 seems to

Special Re-Review: Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship

While we now know that this has to take place not just before Season 8 but before the events of the 2017 FiM movie, it first premiered in February of 2018, about a month before Season 8 of FiM hit the airwaves. Interestingly, the Discovery Family broadcast omitted several scenes that were later released as part of an "extended" version. As for the writer, it was none other than Nick Confalone,

    Episode Re-Review: Uncommon Bond

After the absolute disaster that was "Secrets and Pies", Season 7 really needed something to redeem it and give it the chance to go out on a high note, especially now that the big 2017 movie had come and gone, and the show's future was still uncertain. Josh Haber, after having returned to the story editor's chair and ultimately taking back the reigns fully from Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco

Top Ten Colts and Fillies, Version 4 · 6:44am Nov 10th, 2017

Sorry for this coming out a bit late, personal issues delayed it. Anyway, it doesn't seem like there were a whole bunch of newcomers (only three named ones to my knowledge), but at least two warranted an inclusion here. Here's the third version, from the end of Season 6. Time to see what's changed, but first some honorable mentions (they are: Ruby Pinch, Dinky Doo, Featherweight, Button Mash, Lilly Longsocks, and Tender Taps).

10. Snails
Why he moved down: Poor Snails. After "Buckball Season" finally made him interesting, he and Snips were nowhere to be seen at all this season. You'd think that with Trixie becoming a reoccurring character (she appeared in a total of 4 episodes here, her highest total to date for a season. Sure, it's not much, but when you add in her inclusion in three episodes last season, her ratio of appearances to non-appearances starts to go up), her number one fans would have some sort of presence. After all, why else would they still be in the title sequence?

9. Petunia Paleo
Why she moved up: I'm pretty sure her VA was also voicing that palentalogoist mare she was with in "Shadow Play, Part 1". I don't know whether it a palentological dig, or a class field trip, but just seeing her was a treat in and of itself. She seems to be pretty good at it, which is remarkable considering she previously was finding dinosaur bones in her backyard sandbox. I just wanna know who that other kid she was with is, it can't be her sibling but that's all I can say for certain.

8. Twist
Why she moved down: I think it's safe to say that, with everything we know now, Twist is probably never gonna make a return appearance in terms of speaking. Unless her VA would be willing to fly all the way to Vancouver from Pennsylvania (which is on the other side of the coast). Heck, even simply flying to Los Angeles and then coming up to Vancouver would be pretty taxing and expensive. But since her VA was friends with Chantel Strand and Shanon Chan-Kent, and all three auditioned for the show together, they probably don't want to recast the role out of respect for that bond.

7. Kettle Corn
Why she was added: You've really gotta give the show writers credit, they continue to find new ways to push the boundries of creativity in kids shows. I can't remember the last piece of media aimed at kids in this day and age to feature hiaku, a Japanese style of poetry (though I guess the Japanese define poetry differently from the West since a hiaku doesn't rhyme, and Western poems are all about rhyming). But what's unique about her, is that this goes against her name. We've seen a ton of ponies with names that indicate something about their special talent or abilities, but there's nothing in Kettle Corn to suggest she'd get a cutie mark in hiakus. I just have to hope she doesn't have to always speak in hiakus, because that could be a problem.

6. Skedaddle
Why he was added: While he wasn't named on screen, there's no denying this little unicorn colt shined. Even his lisp (or at least, it sounds like a lisp) is cute. And apparently, he makes a good archery arrow substitute, at least in "Blank Flanks Forever". What more is there to say? If he returned and got a bigger roll, maybe I'd have more to talk about when it comes to him, which is why he's not on the top five.

5. Babs Seed
Why she stayed the same: Ah, my favorite crusader. If only the show would bring you back. It seems like they really were just trolling this us with that screenshot for Season 6 about her returning. Even the Friends Forever series seldom used her after she got her cutie mark. She was just present for a little bit in the penultimate issue, Friends Forever #37, and all she does is show up to explain away Sweetie Belle's absence for the whole issue.

4. Pipsqueak
Why he moved down: Vincent Graham's age is starting to show on Pip, which is ironic since he was a lot younger sounding than the old VA he replaced when he made his debut in "Twilight Time" in Season 4. It's gotten to the point where Vincent actually voiced another character this season, Chip Cutter, and he sounded more convincing there. But since the show's not likely to last for much longer (probably two more seasons, maybe three if they're feeling gutsy), I can't see DHX recasting the role so late in the show's lifetime, especially when they didn't replace Twist's VA or the CMC's VAs, despite the former moving to Pennsylvania, and the latter ones aging up and losing their pitch.

3. Silver Spoon
Why she moved down: At least Diamond Tiara got a glorified cameo in "It Isn't the Mane Thing About You". Silver Spoon just became a face among the crowd this season, only appearing in "Parental Glideance" as far as I know. It's a pity, because with the Littlest Pet Shop cartoon having wrapped up, Shanon Chan-Kent's probably got little else to do, especially when Pinkie Pie's not getting a lot of songs anymore (not that I'm complaining, less is more. She was still part of two songs this season though). Even shipfic wise she hasn't gotten much, she's been more or less forgotten.

2. Rumble
Why he moved up: Sure, he was kind of a jerk and his new voice and personality took a lot of getting used to. But there's no denying Rumble stood out, for better or for worse in "Marks and Recreation". Heck, "Blank Flanks Forever" alone would've justified putting him higher. It's probably a bit of a surprise to all of you, considering he wasn't this high on my Top Ten Pegasi list. Well, since he had fewer pegasi to compete against, and fewer strongly written colts and fillies to contend with, he was able to capitalize on what he had with "Marks and Recreation".

1. Diamond Tiara
Why she stayed the same: She may not be getting much from the show, but Diamond Tiara's still got some loyal fans willing to write stories about her. Heck, just recently one of them hit the feature box. And a lot of Diamond Tiara groups have been boosting their numbers in the two years since "Crusaders of the Lost Mark". And a little fun fact that's now been made clear. Diamond Tiara was supposed to have a verse to herself in the reprise of "We'll Make Our Mark", but it got cut. It's a real shame, and I wish more than anything it could've been included, it would've been a stronger send off for her, at least for the time being. At the same time though, I can't really think of anything that I'd cut or trim from "Crusaders of the Lost Mark" to fit that reprise into the run time and not go over. But hey, it's online now, and it's out there for all of us to enjoy.

And there you have it. Come back late tomorrow night, when we look at the reformations of the show again and update them a little. Suffice it to say, Starlight and Trixie at least have given me a lot to talk about.
