Blog Number 29: Temporary Hiatus-Breaking Edition
I had intended to break the (unintentional) blog hiatus with something more retrospective, especially considering how many items I had listed for it. However, this is a fascinating project, and I would like to use what influence I have to bring it to your attention.

An unknown disaster has removed all life in Equestria from existence. Well, except for Pinkamena Diane Pie, former rock farmer, current party animal, and timeless national hero. But fate can't afford to be picky, so with the help of a life-creating tablet from the heavens, Pinkie must revive the Equestria she knows and loves. Her country. Her community. Her friends.
And that's where you come in. Come take part in the Official Pinkie Pie Group Collaboration! We'll be taking this prompt and hopping, skipping, and jumping with it. Each author will throw out a chapter of a few thousand words to continue the epic tale of Pinkie's bizarre quest to bring Equestria back from the brink. Mayhem beckons. Chaos ensues. Oh, and there may be cake involved.

The Official Pinkie Pie Group Collaboration
On Monday 9th October 2017, NotSoWickedWitch announced the beginning of a new collaboration project. The major details can be found here, but in brief: from the beginning of November onwards, a selection of authors will take turns writing and continuing a story based around the group prompt. The story is that Pinkie, using a mysterious artefact, has to revive Equestria after an unspecified disaster has removed every living thing, including her friends, from existence. Along the way…
And that, of course, is where the collaborating authors kick in, thrashing out a story between them and generally causing mayhem.
Now, projects like this have been tackled before. NotSoWickedWitch participated in a Sunset Shimmer collaboration project earlier this year, the thread of which can be found here:

For those interested, this predecessor project should grant a good idea of how the current collaboration will work.
Each author's chapter is expected to fall between 1,000 words (or basically the site's minimum allowable word count) and 4,000 words. They are supposed to build upon the previous chapter and leave enough freedom for the succeeding author to do the same. Each author is granted four days in which to write, edit, and publish their chapter in the thread provided.
Why Am I Promoting This?
Sadly, the collaboration requires at least fifteen authors to make the story even close to an epic scale. Currently, and excluding NotSoWickedWitch, only nine authors have volunteered. Since I'm fascinated by the potential for creativity and experimentation, I'd hate to see such a promising fic go by the wayside. Hence my promoting it on here, the better to make people aware of and hopefully interested in the Pinkie Pie Group Collaboration.
Of course, I'm not actually in charge of the event. Thus, if you have any questions, it would be best to direct them towards NotSoWickedWitch instead. However, I'll do my best to answer any questions you have should you wish to direct any at myself.

Practical Nightmares Only got through fine. Reader response was… unexpected, to be euphemistic, but at least not much worse than some of my earlier submissions.
Hive Versus Hive and Unworthy of the Sun made it through, the latter with strong positive feedback from the pre-reader, which was especially pleasing. Sadly, the actual reader response was barely anything.
Alas, Her Song of Jubilation failed to pass muster, though after my initial disappointment and dejection, I agree it was for sound reasons and hope to make use of the critique's main points when it comes time to write more fics.

* This is a bit of a cheat, as the actual fic was a chapter in The Campaign for Extra Trixie that I decided deserved its own two feet to stand upon. Besides some extra material, it more or less reads the same.
So many new stories, and yet this time feels mostly squandered. I clearly need to do better than this.
EDIT as of 24/10/2017: Oh yes, I forgot to mention this initially. Until further notice, Healing Properties has been revoked due to severe structural and story problems, as pointed out by multiple sources. For anyone** wondering about the discrepancy between the previous count and this one, that's most likely it.
