A Pony's ghost tale, Part one · 6:20am Oct 21st, 2017
For Halloween, this is but one of the tales the ponies tell....
Manehatten... the largest and most populated town in all of Equestria, it is always one of the most interesting places in all of the ancient kingdom. No matter what time of the day or year who head to the big city, there was plenty to do in this great metropolis; visit the mare statue, catch a show on Bridleway, or visit family in the borough in Hooflyn. But one of the most spooky times to visit was the time called nightmare night, when the city came alive with trick or treating, creepy decorations, and spooky jack ' lanterns in every window.
But the one place everypony knew to avoid, was the old, abandoned mansion that stood at the very edge of the city. Covered in cobwebs, peeling paint, and rotting planks, the creepy old house fit the the creepy holiday that was coming up soon. Nopony knew how long the old house had been there, nor how long it had been abandoned, but even the oldest mares and stallions in the city remembered being told to avoid the place by their grandparents.
But this year, some enterprising ponies in town decided to turn the abandoned house into a Nightmare Night attraction. One mare, Coco Pommel, had volunteered to check the place out, because she was the only member of the committee brave enough to go into the old place. A visiting member of the Wonderbolts, by the name of Thunderlane, had volunteered to go in with her, and check the house out. (Well, actually, he was kind of roped into it by the city council). As the two approached the house, the two were uncertain if they were making the right decision.
"Hey, would you look at this place?" Thunderlane stuttered, shaking in his horsehoes. "Well, it doesn't look like anypony's here. Come on, let's go back and tell the city council It's all good!"
"Oh, come on, you big fraidy Pegasus!" Coco muttered, trying to sound brave. "Let's see what the inside looks like."
The two trotted up to the door, which swung open on it's own, as if to welcome them. Telling themselves it had only been the wind, they slowly walked through the hallway, and into the drawing room, which looked eerie and foreboding in the darkness.
"Watch your step, Thunderlane." Coco muttered to the stallion, who was hiding behind her. "You could trip over something in the darkness."
"Gee, it's so dark in here." The stallion muttered weakly. "Couldn't we light a candle, or something?"
Suddenly, all the candles in the room lit up by themselves, as a chilly wind blew the door in the other room shut. At that instant, the piano in the room began playing itself, and the books came flying off the shelves, floating above their heads.
"Ahhhh, this is getting scary already!" Thunderlane whimpered, hiding under the rug. "I wanna go home!"
"Eeek, this is scary!" Coco whimpered, hiding under a chair. "I don't want to use this place as a hunted attraction anymore, it really IS haunted!"
Thier were creepy flashes of light in the house, followed by the screams of two ponies, then everything fell silent. By the next morning the house had fallen silent again... and there was no sign of the two ponies who had been exploring the night before....
