Anyways, me personally, I'd be excited if this officially becomes canon in the show. One, it would give the next generation the idea that being gay is okay, despite how corny that sounds and dispel a bit of the bigotry still sadly surrounding gay marriage, and two, finally show Scootaloo's family on-screen. If Hasbro's bold enough to do this, and not back down in fear of Derpygate Mark 2, I will tip my hat to them.
Now, I've got a slight confession to make. I know I'm mostly hetrosexual, but for a while I've been struggling to accept the fact that I do like guys, just a little bit. Yep, that's right. I'm bisexual. It's only now I've only had the courage to even mention it. Now, sadly, quite a few people will not take the above reveal about Scootaloo's parents nicely because of their upbringing, and I have two things to say. One, time to grow up. The world's changing, and it's time you change along with it. And if that still doesn't get through to you, and you still decide to be a bigot... Well, here's George Takei for you. I can only pity you for your close-mindedness.
I am looking forward to this!!! I find it funny that even in a progressive fandom like this, there are still people who are appalled by the idea of a same sex couple being in the show. Like did they forget what show they were watching? Its only a issue because morons make it an issue.

I think Steven Universe was a god-send and if the worldwide franchises are following in their stead, it could lead to a generation of awareness which the world could well use.
I just like the fact that this will finally kill the bad orphan, homeless, and abused Scootaloo stories. Several have been great but just about every story centering on her was one of these and it felt like it was getting very stale.

It saddens me this will destroy that door. It was an interesting and in-depth idea with many possibilities to it. To be frank, with how much people complained about it, it was insanely hard to actually find any.

I admit this is true. One of my favourite fics and one that really got me into Fimfiction was the Nuptialverse.
But I suppose they couldn't keep Scootaloo's background ambiguous forever. I mean, everypony else got one. If anything, to deny her a closer look into her family would be true Scootabuse.
I could be wrong but, still, if it had to happen, I'm glad some good could come out of it.
