I Wonder if I Should Tag This Blog With Movie Spoilers But I Don't Really Think I Need to Because You Should Already Know This by Now And I Has This Random Epifinay in The Frozen Food Aisle While Grabbing Steamable Veggies at My Local Grocer. · 1:47am Oct 11th, 2017
So, I haven't seen the movie yet, and if you are one of those people that are trying to avoid any and all spoilers like the plague, then this blog isn't for you.
But it IS short.
The antagonist of the movie that gets the most focus is one Tempest Show, as see here, making you feel funny in the pants.
And it occured to me that while that may or may not be her real name. (I've seen "Fizzlepop" thrown around...) One thing I haven't seen is how her name meets one of the oldest tropes of the show that we haven't seen since ol' Glimglam poked her head up: naming convention for the villains that oppose Twilight directly (at least for the unicorn villains).
Twilight Sparkle>Sunset Shimmer>Starlight Glimmer>Twilight Sparkle(the human one)>Tempest Shadow
They are all female unicorns/human counterpart with two part names, the first being atmospheric phenomena and the second being some manner or level of illumination.
I think that's pretty neat.
Stay spoiled.

So we're looking for somebody named Aurora Dawn perhaps for the next one?
Tempest Shadow is much further than the others though. I mean, Sparkle>Shimmer>Glimmer are very close and Shadow is only related in a very broad manner. While Twilight/Sunset are both times of day and states of the sky, Starlight being celestial body similar to the first two, but Tempest is just a local atmosphere event.
Mostly I'm just amused that you found it neat one way and I was actually pleased in the other direction. That Tempest wasn't following the thesaurus naming conventions of the other two villains.
I've seen the movie and can confirm that Tempest's real name is Fizzlepop Berrytwist

... Does that sound like a stripper's name to anyone else?

Totes a stripper name.
4694402
Oh absolutely
4694469
Jaded stripper, who'd stand in front of you, hands on hips, frowning, while you rummaged frantically for a bill, scowling until you moved to a higher denomination.

I pull out a Benjamin and she better be ready to berrytwist until my fizzlepops.
