No major news, just some editing of the original story, content revisions, a character makeover, and sprinkling of chapter illustrations. Details below the break for those interested.
In late 2015, I decided to look around for an artist who might give Nighttide a makeover. A few months later, a commissioned artist, GloomyMark (now Goombot now Cosmalumi), produced my favorite redesign, so I continued to commission them for chapter illustrations. Due to their schedule, progress has been slow, and in recent months, I've stopped pitching commissions as regularly. In any case, as of late 2017, I'm still pitching some every now and then.
Nighttide's original design (left) was meant to be similar to canon, whereas Cosmalumi's design (right) is a bit more advanced and complex:
I'm a big fan of the redesign, and I hope you might like it as well. Er, okay, I really hope you do since you're the consumer and I'm just the dude with the OC. 
As suggested above, you will now find a handful of chapter illustrations spread throughout the story. There's literally just a handful, not much at all right now, so it'll seem pretty random what ones do exist. There are still more on the way, but there's no telling when and if the story will be fully illustrated – at least by the same artist.
Since I decided to use Nighttide v2, I've gone through the story for the first time in two years and given it a clean set of edits, plus one slightly significant update: the official name of Nighttide's home country is now Roanne. It's not a reference to anything MLP-centric, like that one big ROAN project that was going on a couple years ago. It's just a spin on a spelling of a type of coat color on horses, and I couldn't find it used elsewhere on Fimfiction during a general search, so I went with it. Heck of a lot better than the crap I was using, which I just outsourced from an old videogame. Though you will find the names of certain locations still reference Homeworld.

I'm a fan of the new art, looks more pony cyborg than the original, that I originally thought was pony space armour.
Also the details are super pretty. The metal looks more like metal.
The one for chapter five is particularly good, very dynamic.
