[UPDATE] On the topic of, "Where the hell have you been?!" · 10:02pm Sep 26th, 2017
So a little over three weeks ago I lost my job. It was sudden, it wasn't a case of being fired, they just decided to end all contract work across the board for the team I was on.
Obviously, this sucked.
A couple of days after that happened, I hit a pretty severe bout of depression. Not nearly so bad as when my ex-wife left, but still pretty bad. (couldn't get out of bed, couldn't make my own food, couldn't be bothered to eat some of the time...) My cats and the regular visits with my daughter were pretty much all that kept me going.
This, of course, meant that nothing got done.
"Fallen Star" is still ongoing, I'm happy with what I've written so far, but I'm not even done with a single complete chapter.
So that was the bad news.
The good news is I started a new job on Sunday. Along with all the usual rigmarole that accompanies a drastic lifestyle change, I was approached with an offer for a promotion today. Yay! Only real problem is that, due to the nature of the job, I'll be working 10-hour days for the next 7-10 days.
Yes, before I get any more time off, I'll have put in a full 70-100 hours of work in.
As far as silver linings to that rather small cloud, I'll be getting a raise in pay and any work done over 40 in a week is time-and-a-half, so I'll be pulling in a fairly hefty amount of cash in a fairly short time.
tl;dr - I might be very, very unavailable for the next 1-2 weeks, but work will commence soon.
i got 2 months before i have to find work :/ gosh thats gona be hard for me first work too :/
