I'm A Big Vehicle Fan · 2:33pm Sep 9th, 2017

I'm A Big Vehicle Fan

One thing you might not know about me is that I love vehicles like trains, cars, motorcycles, trucks, and so on.

In terms of industrial and transportation vehicles I love trains, trucks, airplanes, construction equipment, metro trains, and other industrial/ transportation vehicles (both modern and historic).

In terms of privately owned vehicles, I'm am fan of sleek designs, fast vehicles, sturdy and practical designs, futuristic vehicles, green vehicles, and I also love classic vehicles (both cars and motorcycles).

If I could get a classic vehicle I would get The Tucker 48 (AKA the Tin Goose) because it is a very reliable car and had a lot of advanced features for its time such as airbags, seat-belts and even lights that turned with the steering wheel which was very innovative.

Here's a picture:

There were only a very small amount of the cars ever made, unfortunately. Many are either owned by private owners or museums. Here is a list of where they are currently displayed: http://tuckerclub.org/tucker-gallery/

I always end up liking the rare cars I can never feasibly own for some reason. I don't plan it that way. I look up the design or history of a car or motorcycle or something and decide that I like the design and function. But then it always turns out to be only one of 50 ever made or something. I tend to have bad luck that way. :L

If I could get a classic motorcycle, I would probably get the BMW Slash 5. They have a really nice design and are considered by many motorcycle enthusiasts to be one of the best motorcycles ever made in terms of its study body, good gas mileage, and sleek internal design.

Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Something on of my friends Glen Gorewood brought up was amphibious vehicles and flying cars. I really like both of those as well!

Amphibious vehicles are vehicles that can operate on both land and also on bodies of water.

Here are some neat examples of amphibious vehicles.

Flying cars are vehicles that can ideally operate both on ground terrain and also in the air.

Here are some neat examples of flying cars.

Another thing I like is green technology in general which also crosses over into green vehicles (also known as clean vehicles or eco-friendly vehicles). Electric cars and compressed air cars are some of my favorite cars among the other green vehicles. But there are actually some really neat concepts for green vehicles such as solar powered vehicles and wind powered vehicles, if you look into it more. There's a good Wikipedia article about the different types of green vehicles here.

Here are some examples of green vehicles.

These are just some examples of vehicles that I like. But what are some of your favorite vehicles? I am curious to know.

That's interesting. Can't say I focus much on vehicles, but you clearly know your stuff. I don't think it's weird. After all, I've heard worse. Like, there are actual people who are sexually attracted to vehicles; stick their junk into the exhaust pipe and everything.

And I thought being attracted to cartoon ponies was odd. :trollestia:

Nice, you have alot of interests don't you? :raritywink:

I never thought you to be a car enthusiast as well. Sweet.

4663053 Yes, I have heard of the people attracted to vehicles. We live in a fascinating world. :L

4663107 I do indeed. XD

4663160 I'm a vehicle enthusiast in general. But cars are cool too. XD

4663167
Indeed.

By the way, the wedding is in an hour.

*floats away in cardboard box hot air balloon*

4663173 Yay! Have fun at the wedding. Be sure to take lots of pictures. :)

4663178 That sounds kind of fun actually. :P

4663416
Let's take it one step further...

*Floats away in an upside-down Walmart bag attached to a match as a hot air balloon*

4663405
Well, I just got back. Sorry to say, I didn't get to taking many pictures. I might be able to get some from my Mom's facebook, but no guarantees.

Anyway, I had fun. I'll be back home tomorrow.

4663426 That sounds like a fun way to travel. XD

4663507 I am happy to hear that you had a fun time. That is the most important thing. :)

4663975
Thanks. I'm going home today... which will take 12-14 hours.

4664030 Have a safe trip home, my friend.

4663974
*Drifts away on a pad of aerogel*

4664171 That takes some real talent. :o

4664179
*Reverses the law of gravity and glides upwards on a paper airplane*

4664180 I do that a lot myself. XD

4664188
*Climbs up Discord's scruffy beard*

4664190 I've walked up him when he turned into a pair of stairs. The beard thing is a new one though.

4664198
Whoops. Wait a sec. *Patches the fabric of the universe*

4664218 The universe tastes kind of good, especially when dipped in milk.

Lovely little green tech vehicle examples there, I know Japan has some really interesting designs as far as green tech vehicles; many are being put into active use now.

As you know Lyra, I'm in love with the Renault Alpine A110 relaunch; truth is I've been following the news on it since they initially announced plans to bring the Alpine back over six years ago.

Something interesting to look into is a self charging vehicle that is in the works, it's based off a self charging assisted engine used for work bicycles in some areas of the world.

There is a version that's been in the development for almost a decade that is solar powered, with a self charging electric engine. They test it out in the Mohave desert in a secret location, but every update is featured in a Popular Science and Popular mechanics. Truth is we need that kind of vehicle more than we need self driving cars.

Of course flying cars are brilliant, but something really interesting is there are vehicles in development that will be hydro powered semi aquatic cars. They are based off a newer turbine system used for high end yachts, there is some brilliant stuff out there if you look for it.

Glen Gorewood

4664613 I like the self-charging vehicles. They are pretty cool. There are also many vehicles which are currently being powered by magnetic systems which is really neat.

Green technology in general is a really interesting subject. It isn't something that seems to be brought up a lot though, for whatever. Which is too bad since there are so many awesome green technology centered innovative designs and inventions out there.

4664618
Indeed, personally I wish green technology was brought up more often in discussion. Considering it will be central to society's continued existence in a decade or less.

I've heard of the magnetic powered car, but I thought they were having issues shielding the engine so the magnets didn't wipe other important parts clean thus making the car non functional.

Glen Gorewood

4664620 The magnetic systems are actually used more commonly in subway systems and other mass transportation vehicles.

There's a good Wikipedia article about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maglev

4664651
Oh so it's not the same thing I was thinking of. A few years ago some company tried to build a different sort of magnet system and kept running into issues. So that means that the tried and true version is being used instead now.

Either way, it's fascinating to think what the future will hold.

Glen Gorewood

4664654 It is indeed. I am looking forward to seeing all of the environmentally friendly technologies that will be developed. They will just get better with time. :)

4668487 Awww, thank you very much. I am glad that you like them. :)
