[FMP] Yep, We're Comin' Back · 6:27pm Aug 20th, 2017
I'd say it's been long enough. New chapter is comin' in two days.
Chapter four of FMP, which has been a long time in the works, will be published in two days, August 22nd. This marks the two-year anniversary of the story's beginning, which mainly reminds me that I really ought to work on this more. Chapter four will be split into three segments, which I will strive to publish within the same week. You guys have been patient enough, so I won't do the whole one-per-week deal for now.
I gotta say...over the course of the last few months, I've come up with some pretty interesting ideas involving the project, primarily with this first story arc. I'm going to try and make a long-term storyline that will involve multiple 'books', each with their own central conflict. This first book has been a challenge so far because I didn't want to get into the grand-scale things too early, so finding new and interesting conflicts that wouldn't rush things was difficult. Now I've found a nice collection of plot points that I want to use, and they're bound to ramp up the drama. It's just a matter of arranging them all in a way to serve the overall narrative.
It's gonna be a fun ride. But for now, chapter four will delve into the characters a little more. Don't worry, though, I've already begun work on chapter five, and it's going to set the stage for quite a bit of conflict in this first book. Needless to say, I've found my first real antagonist.
