Critical Mass Chapter 7 Update · 7:04pm Aug 18th, 2017

"Quick" update for Critical Mass Chapter 7.

It's actually on schedule for once!

More information below.

I'm maybe half way done with the chapter. Or maybe more. I'm not sure how long it's going to be. It may seem strange that I'm pulling an update about it, but I wanted to talk a little bit about it, so I hope you don't mind. Of course, you could always just stop reading. I hope that's not the case...

Chapter 7, as of right now, is a bit all over the place. It's still easy to follow, just... I'm not sure how to describe it. The vast majority of the scenes focus on Twilight so far, so be warned about that. I kind of struggled with that, since I have the problem of feeling like I need to constantly reinforce things, such as, in Reaction, with Twilight being sad, I felt the need to constantly remind readers about that. I feel like if I don't, then the story becomes less coherent, for some reason. Like a lack of continuity, like changes are too sudden...

And of course, with Twilight in the position that she is in (in Critical Mass), that can be tedious... I don't want it to feel too repetitive, but I want to reinforce things...

And I'm getting a bit off topic. The main reason for this blog post was to say that, as of right now, I have finished writing the scene which will probably be the darkest scene in this story/series, and that things, from this point, will get better. (So if you read up to this part, you might as well keep going because the rest of the story isn't as dark as it, however, there's still the rescue and confrontation parts... but even those are lighter than this, at least in my opinion, because of context...) This is the scene which I so looked forward to writing from the beginning, and which more or less spurred on this story (other scenes contributed, but this scene serves as a backbone to the other scenes), although I struggled a lot with writing the other scenes (kind of supporting scenes) in this chapter, building up to this scene. There are still several more scenes I am looking forward to writing, all of them taking place in Chapter 7 and Chapter 8. It doesn't look like there's going to be a Chapter 9.

College starts next week. We will have to see if I manage to stay on schedule and complete the chapter for next Saturday...

On a side note, that scene would be absolutely perfect, from an author's point of view, for a cliffhanger. To a reader, that would be the worst possible thing an author could do to them. After you read it, you will see what I mean, and you will agree with me. If you do not, I will be surprised.

Don't even think about it :flutterrage:
