Episode reviews: Uprooted/ Between Dark and Dawn/ A Trivial Pursuit

Okay, quick talk about three episodes. I know I haven't been doing these weekly but I am behind on mlp. Season 8 wasn't... as good as I would have hoped so I stopped keeping track each week. My bad. Season 9, from what I've seen, has picked up the slack. So there's some positive. I'm going to try and watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day until I get caught up. Don't worry, I'll be ready for the

Episode Review: Father Knows Best/School Raze

    1: Father Knows Best

Well this is it folks. I have finally finished season 8.... I think it's my least favorite season. Not entirely bad, but just not as good as others. I'm surprised really. I never thought I'd see a day I'd like a season less then season 4 but here it is. So let's start off by going over the last two episodes of this season shall we?

New Chapter coming soon (The Greatest Treasure/Fate Pony)

Heyo everyone. It seems I've got my writing mojo back. Well now I've finally started the next chapter of TGT and my Fate pony fic. They should be done by the weekend if not tomorrow. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

    (Spoiler review) What Lies Beneath

Still need to catch up on season 8. Don't worry. I won't be out of the loop once season 9 ends. I plan on binging the show until then. So hopefully I'll get a review done a day. So let's start with this one.

1: Neanderthals

Neanderthals are a species of hominid, closely related to Humans. It is unclear if Neanderthals came from the same world or evolved in this one and are similar through convergent evolution. Due to recent finds of more ancient hominids, it is possible for either to be true at this point and is a major point of contention in paleontologists. Either way, Neanderthals have made a home for themselves in the northern parts of their continent.

They are smaller then regular humans, but much more robust. They can take a beating and get back to fight some more, showcasing strength above that of humans. They are excellent miners, with their natural strength lending to making it easy to part the earth and gain its natural resources. Neanderthal men take pride in their beards and make sure to keep them groomed. It is looked down upon to shave it.

They are master armor smiths and have some of the best armor sets in the world. They have also taken up an affinity with guns as well. They don't so much get along with their human cousins as they find humans to be arrogant. As well, the Roman Empire often just refers to them as Dwarves. Neanderthals honestly find the term an insult.

They share much of their culture with the northern tribes of Equestria, sharing the same gods as well.

2: : Grundle

Grundles aren't smart. They aren't strong. They aren't that very big, though some can reach greater heights. They are however excellent miners and tend to live in underground cities, away from other races that could easily take them over and slaughter them. For this, they tend to have small kingdoms scattered about the lands. They will often lend their service to others if they believe it will get them off their backs.

They are still a naturally friendly race so they will often help out others, as well, just for the sake of it. This is why you more often see them above ground as servants, messengers, farmhands, and etc. They will happily work all day for a hearty meal, a pat on the head, and a 'good job'. Still, they are often taken advantaged of, which is why some like Celestia, do their best to look out for them. Still, they are very durable and take quite a few blows that would kill others of their size, such as goblins who are their genetic cousins.

3: Sirin

Beautiful and deadly, sirins are akin to the air as sirens are to the sea. While similar in name, they are vastly different in temperment. While Sirens are aggressive and look for instances to kill others with their song {so they can feed}, Sirins instead are known to do it unintentionally. Their music is so entrancing that mortals are known to forget everything else and just follow them, which has resulted in many injuries and deaths. For this reason, they are very hesitant to sing in the presence of mortals. However, this is a bit difficult since they tend to sing when they are very happy or sharing great news. They are a very friendly lot.

Still, they are viewed as the messengers of the gods, sharing messages and details between groups of gods. For this, they are often employed by messenger gods themselves, such as Apollo. They are an all female race, which can produce asexually but also can breed with others.

DNA testing has shown that they are indeed related to Neanderthals, though only distantly related. Their origins of how they evolved such is in their homeland, which is rich in magic. It it thought that it molded the Neanderthals of that land to fit with the environment in a rather strange way, but that is the way of magic.

4: Karkadann

Karkadann were originally thought to be magically inclined rhinos, but after testing their DNA, it was found out they were actually unicorns. It would seem they have just evolved convergently to rhinos in appearance. They are extremely durable and their armor plating is extremely tough and hard to get through. It is further enhanced by their inner magic, which makes their armor sort of magic resistant, so many magic based attacks will just slide off it.

They are very large and aggressive. It doesn't take a lot to tick them off, so many others have to tread carefully when dealing with these cranky unicorns. Because of their aggression, they do tend to start a number of wars and others can be hard pressed to stop these titans. These wars usually aren't that long since cool heads will eventually prevail, but those that share borders with these sapients are incredibly wary.

They do not share the same 'superiority' complex that other unicorn species have. Instead, they only pride others on their strength. Only the strong are worthy of their praise. For this, they gain positions of power and the ability to rule by combat. While death isn't the required end, it can sometimes lead to that during duels. Given their natural endurance and thick skin and armor, duels can take some time to complete but Karkadann are not known to give up. They will fight on until they either win or are defeated {either knocking them out or killing them.}. If one is able to defeat them, they will have earned their respect and can be named an honorary Karkadann if the local lords so wish.
