Gearing up to move! · 4:22am Jul 31st, 2017
I hope all of you had a good weekend. Mine is just getting started. For me, Sunday has been mostly a day to rest. I do apologize for my lack of blogs here of late. The past week and a half was a little busy from work, my schedule got jostled around and I only had two nights off spaced within the last twelve days. That's why I'm so glad to have these three days off now. And after my four days this week, I'll be on vacation for 10 lovely days that includes my trip to BronyCon. So I'm really looking forward to that. ^^
Now as the subject suggests, yeah, I'm gearing up to move again. Unlike last time, my mom has finally come to the same realization I did back in March and wants to move. Only this, time, after discussing things at length, we've decided to stay in the same general area were are. The fact that I have a good established job was also something we took into consideration. But it has made the last month more than a little busy. Thankfully the worst of the packing is done, in fact we hadn't completely unpacked from the last time we attempted to move. The open house we had last Sunday was a drain, but at least we have better goals this time. So time should tell how this works out, but the goal is to save us money as staying where we are is no longer practical or cost effective.
Now, I have still been working on my writing. This past week is the first week in a while that I haven't done any writing. But at least I've still done some outlining and planning. I've also have some progress to report. It's beyond late, but I did finish the rough draft for chapter 5 of Jeanne's story "Then There Was You". It wasn't just new projects and dealing with personal issues that delayed her story. I was making sure I had a better path in mind for the story. Plus chapter 5 introduces a new character and I wanted to make sure to a good job. Plus with Luna's story now on hold for the time being, I wanted to see how my stories will be effected collectively. I've also started the next chapter of Celestia's story "You Brighten My Day". I would have started work on her story sooner as well, but given my writing goals, and the length and age of the story, I wanted to see if some of my original plans for Tia's story were just going to drag it out and not really have the same effect I originally wanted. So, as I'm breaking ground with the new chapter, that's what I've been keeping in mind.
I'm also continuing to make progress on my newest project and have drafted the second part to about half way. It'll be at least 4 probably 5 parts till it's done. And I want to have the entire story drafted before I post it. I'm also nearly done with the draft of chapter 4 of Cherish Heart's (Button's Mom's) story "Since You Came Along". So, I'll soon be gearing up for a lot of editing. I didn't expect preping to move to take up so much of my time. And of course over time at work sneaks up on you, but my new job is still so much better than my last one. ^^ One thing is for sure, I appreciate all of your support and patience through everything that's been going on. And I also have to confess to being a little distracted the other week when I was contacted about the audio reading of my Vinyl Scratch one shot "The Beat of Her Heart" (which I covered in my last blog). It was very touching to have an audio reading for one of my stories. =D
For now, this was just a quick update. Following a good night's sleep. I have two days off with not a whole lot going on. So, I'm planning to get some writing done. That's for sure. Oh and after work this morning, I got together with a friend of my from work for breakfast. He shared some new writing techniques and gave me a lot to think about with working on characterization and plot advancement. So, while I'm still debating what i want to do with Luna's story "A Total Eclipse of Their Hearts". I want to let you all know that I am considering a complete re-write. About the only thing that will be the same are the major characters involved. Quite a bit will be changed, if I do indeed decide to go ahead with the re-write. I'd love to hear any of your thoughts. I'm also thinking of holding a survey. It would give you awesome readers and followers of mine a chance to vote for what you think I should do for Luna's story. I'll then keep your thoughts in mind as I make my ultimate decision.
For now, I bid you all...good night!

Ooo, new writing techniques huh? I am intrigued.
"Gotta move that gear up!" was the first thing that came to my mind when I read the blog's title :P
