For the past few months I've been working on a new story. I know, a writer writing, shocking, ain't it? With Before the Fall just about cancelled (I've been too lazy to officially change its status), Tiger Bloom completed, and SotA nearing completion I've been putting more and more time into this new story. I really want to get it started just right so it has the best chance at success.
To that end I'm trying to fine-tune the synopsis and am scouring the interwebs for appropriate cover art. There is a specific image that I'd love to use for the art, except I am 99.9% certain it doesn't exist and with my anxiety I find it extremely difficult to approach an artist to commission something. So, I'll probably go to my usual fall-back plan of throwing rocks at my brother to get him to whip something up using GIMP like I did with Tiger Bloom and SotA.
The story is, at the moment, a combination of Slice of Life and Adventure spread out between three groups. There are the Mane 6, plus other characters, in one group. Trixie and an OC in other. And finally Gilda and an OC in the third. Originally it was going to be more of a traditional Adventure story, but after writing SotA for the past several months, plus Tiger Bloom in the interm, I'd like to write something less adventure orriantated for a change.
The first chapter is almost completed, and the second chapter is about 1/3 complete at this stage, with the next two chapters plotted and blocked out ready to be written.

Long ago, in the magical land of Ancient Equestria, there was a golden age of powerful gods and extraordinary heroes. The mighty Alicorns tamed the land from their home high on Mount Alicorn, while beneath their gaze the ponies flourished. But it was not to remain so.
Corrupted by their power, many of the Alicorns grew cold and arrogant. Divided, the Alicorns separated into two sides; the Just and Honourable Alicorns of Harmony, and the Cruel and Contemptuous Titans of Disharmony. Many were the crimes the Titans visited upon those they once called kin. War was inevitable, and when it came, the land fell into chaos, pain, and suffering.
After years of constant battle defeat was certain to befall the Alicorns of Harmony. Desperate to save those they could, they used an ancient and powerful of magic to send a piece of themselves, and the youngest among them, to another world. Little did the realise the consequences this act and attempt at preserving a portion of their past would have for this other innocent land.
