New Cover Art? Discord? A blog of some random thoughts...

This blog will be a little more rambling than normal.

First up: Gee Dubs latest addition to the copyright (ha!) policy means that I need to change my cover art or be in danger of getting a visit from their lawyers for being a very naughty person. I thought that they were idiotic before, but the latest changes to their policies border on the satirical. Since it is an 'official' piece of artwork, it can't be used. So... *shrug* What I'd replace it with is rather simple; Sunset in some Sororitas power armour. Or, maybe a teenaged Sunset in rags, sitting cross legged, a damaged sororitas helmet held in her lap. Yeah, I like that mental image as it ties better into the first few chapters. *sagely nodding*

The next thing that has been on my mind off and on the last week is whether or not I should set up a Discord server where people could ask questions, hang out, and stuff. Of course, then I remember I have massive, crippling anxiety and just left a half-dozen discord servers this month because I never used them. So, this is more a thinking out loud type ordeal.

I've not been in a good place mentally the last couple weeks. Chronic panic attacks. Not being able to write much. I've barely managed 500 words since the last chapter was posted.

One of the things I do to combat my anxiety has become putting models together. Getting away from everyone, just being alone, cutting, scraping, gluing. Imagining how I might paint the models when I can afford some primer. Its been the only time my anxiety has gone down. That and the morning before people wake up. Trouble is, I'm running out of things to build rather quickly. I've got a box of Zephyrim to put together, and that's it.

On the plus side; I've got a decent force of grey plastic Daughters of Khaine army. And the reveal from the LVO for the Nighthaunt vs Daughters box would finish off one of the warscrolls, since I only need 1 set each of the Wych Aelves and Khineria. And the new whippy girl is very sexy. The warlocks are a little bit of icing for my army. Oh! I think I have some pictures of them actually!

Since I'm rambling and just sharing thoughts I've had over the past few weeks, one of them is my desire to make an Aeldar army. I would like to get the Start Collecting Craftworld box (not only because army, but the aforementioned putting minis together is relaxing), but my wallet screams in agony. Ideas for a custom Craftworld are forming. Ideas that will be part of Sunset of Battle when/if the story goes on long enough. At the moment, I'm leaning towards a smaller craftworld that has crashed and is kinda half-craftworld, half-exodite now in nature.

What I'd get for models for such an army would be a start collecting, the upcoming Eldritch Omens boxset, and flesh out with the new kits over time. Probably just get a single Guardians set for now. My brother talks of getting a 3d printer once he gets a jerb and our financial situation stablises, and there is an amazing female Avatar of Khaine model that I rather like. Though the new model just revealed last night is pretty cool too.
