I don't know why... · 5:30am Jun 30th, 2017
But an idea struck me while at work on Wednesday. I've been writing on it since, but it went from a simple joke to a 6k mess in no time at all. Honestly I think the idea is great and will encourage others to expand on it once it's posted. I hope to finish it by tonight, as I just finished Twilight's tour and am moving on to a party. The end is near, even if Vermintide is distracting me.
Tonight?
...
But it's already 10:42 PM. How much more tonight can you get?
Say, I have been reading lots of wuxia-esque manga, and one of the rare, ultrapowerful techniques has "splitting consciousness" as one of the late stages (the ones well after you attain immortality and now are just becoming one of the legendary figures yourself). This, in turn, reminded me of a webcomic called "The Water Phoenix King", where gods are actually a collection of facets/aspects of the same individual, which is the how and why of how can they have so many diverse powers, some of which are more or less mutually exclusive in a mortal... and attaining godhood isn't that hard, comparatively speaking, but it IS a huge hassle, and is highly confusing and scary, so many turn away and remain a singular existence - these are sorcerers, who even at that stage are leagues above other mortal magic users.
What I was going with that is this: is there anyone there that is more than one person? Either having split into independent entities or remaining as a collective/hive mind? Someone in there must have had designed more than one OC, right?
A separate but maybe not entirely unrelated idea: Magitech golems/robots, what is their status in Stewtopia? Or prosthetics? I keep getting reminded of them wherever I turn, if not by puppeteers that use magic, by the awesome pics produced by... pretty much any fandom ever, actually.
