Episode reviews: Uprooted/ Between Dark and Dawn/ A Trivial Pursuit

Okay, quick talk about three episodes. I know I haven't been doing these weekly but I am behind on mlp. Season 8 wasn't... as good as I would have hoped so I stopped keeping track each week. My bad. Season 9, from what I've seen, has picked up the slack. So there's some positive. I'm going to try and watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day until I get caught up. Don't worry, I'll be ready for the

Episode Review: Father Knows Best/School Raze

    1: Father Knows Best

Well this is it folks. I have finally finished season 8.... I think it's my least favorite season. Not entirely bad, but just not as good as others. I'm surprised really. I never thought I'd see a day I'd like a season less then season 4 but here it is. So let's start off by going over the last two episodes of this season shall we?

New Chapter coming soon (The Greatest Treasure/Fate Pony)

Heyo everyone. It seems I've got my writing mojo back. Well now I've finally started the next chapter of TGT and my Fate pony fic. They should be done by the weekend if not tomorrow. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

    (Spoiler review) What Lies Beneath

Still need to catch up on season 8. Don't worry. I won't be out of the loop once season 9 ends. I plan on binging the show until then. So hopefully I'll get a review done a day. So let's start with this one.

{Shimmerverse} Chaos Units 2 · 5:59am Jun 14th, 2017

1: Drake Cannon

Crafted from the severed head of a dragon, Drake Cannons are large artillery pieces that shoot fire based chaos magic. These large weapons are used to wreak havoc on enemies in large swaths of destruction. Due to their method of construction, they aren't that numerous unless a chaos army gets lucky in dragon territories. For that, they are used in small numbers but still are enough to leave a big hole in enemy lines or in fortresses.

2: Artillery Scorpion

Giant scorpions warped by chaos. These beasts don't have their species regular tail stinger, instead it has been replaced by a living cannon that the beast will use to fire upon their foes from either a distance or when in close quarters as the scorpion's claws are more then able to crush enemies with ease. Their natural armor makes them incredibly tough to take down.

3: Chaos Demon

These creatures dwell in the realm of chaos itself. They are warped and twisted, with no sense of right or wrong or a shred of sanity to them. All they want is to spread chaos and to slaughter anyone who gets in their way. That's all that matters to them, so even chaos worshippers are nervous about these beings that can twist even them, even if chaos demons are more like beasts then anything.

4: Crossbow Infantry

The ranged units of the chaos forces. While not as accurate as others, due to their chaotic nature, they are still deadly and can fire bolts laden with chaos based powers if need be to scare their foes or kill them.

5: Manticore

Winged beasts that of a mixture of bats, lions, and scorpions. Created ages ago by ambient chaos magic, these beasts have roamed the countrysides, making a nuisance of themselves to everyone. They were eventually 'tamed' by the forces of chaos and make for good line breakers as their strength and abilities make them deadly in open combat. Their lion jaws and paws can make short work of a pony and their scorpion tail holds deadly toxins that can quickly kill their victims. Their wings allow them to take flight, so not even pegasi are safe from them. However, they are not that fast or agile in the air and more commonly use this just to dive bomb their prey.

6: Toy Soldiers

Brought to life by chaos sorcerers, these toys are determined and deadly. Usually made of hard metals, they are difficult to take down as they feel no pain and are not organic. So they have to be completely destroyed and made inoperable to defeat. They are often used in large numbers so it is hard to do so effectively because of this.

7: Griffon Mercenaries

Griffons are one of the few active worshippers of chaos on the planet, so they are known to sell their swords to chaos cults from time to time. They are deadly and efficient, being that they aren't usually very active worshippers and while they honor chaos, aren't wanting to lose their mind to it. This gives them an edge over other units as they are more prone to clever thinking and tactics when fighting.

8: Fisher

Mutant ponies, Fishers' tails have become the flesh equivalent of fishing rods. The long reels and fleshy line are attached to a large and deadly hook. They throw this out in precise arcs, snagging unfortunate foes and reeling them back into their large mouths filled with jagged teeth that make short work of any unfortunate prey.

9: Grootslang

When magic was young and so were the gods, they attempted to try their hands at creating life. These beasts were mistakes of the early gods. They were too deadly. Too focused on bringing death and destruction to everything around them. They had to be stopped. They attempted to destroy them, but some survived in the darkest parts of the world. A wild combination of elephant and snakes, they are exceptionally intelligent and horrible. Pledging their lives to Discord, they have made their home as higher lords in the chaos armies, leading others into battle and destroying entire units on their own with their massive strength and deadly arsenals.

10: Chaos Warhounds

Spikey wolves warped by chaos, these fast beasts are used to track down and slaughter any foe that tries to run from the forces of chaos. As well, they are excellent at picking off those on the outskirts of formations and engaging in close combat.

11: Corpse Cavalry

Riding atop 'horses' made up of the flesh of their enemies and allies, these chaos cavalry units will run nonstop on their undead steeds. The ponies atop them are gifted with long lances to make quick work of any foe they run past and that isn't stomped to death by the grotesque mounts.

12: Troll

Selfish and tricky humanoids, these monsters are usually found near bridges and caves. The more 'sophisticated' ones will have a fee and if not charged will eat you. Most won't be so nice. They carry their heads high in the armies of chaos, smashing their foes to pieces and plundering their lands for loot. They are also known to deceive and fool ponies and other creatures for fun when they aren't killing and eating them.
