Episode reviews: Uprooted/ Between Dark and Dawn/ A Trivial Pursuit

Okay, quick talk about three episodes. I know I haven't been doing these weekly but I am behind on mlp. Season 8 wasn't... as good as I would have hoped so I stopped keeping track each week. My bad. Season 9, from what I've seen, has picked up the slack. So there's some positive. I'm going to try and watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day until I get caught up. Don't worry, I'll be ready for the

Episode Review: Father Knows Best/School Raze

    1: Father Knows Best

Well this is it folks. I have finally finished season 8.... I think it's my least favorite season. Not entirely bad, but just not as good as others. I'm surprised really. I never thought I'd see a day I'd like a season less then season 4 but here it is. So let's start off by going over the last two episodes of this season shall we?

New Chapter coming soon (The Greatest Treasure/Fate Pony)

Heyo everyone. It seems I've got my writing mojo back. Well now I've finally started the next chapter of TGT and my Fate pony fic. They should be done by the weekend if not tomorrow. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

    (Spoiler review) What Lies Beneath

Still need to catch up on season 8. Don't worry. I won't be out of the loop once season 9 ends. I plan on binging the show until then. So hopefully I'll get a review done a day. So let's start with this one.

{Shimmerverse} Oviraptor Units 1 · 11:39pm Jun 10th, 2017

1: Infantry

Soldiers loyal to the nation eagerly join the armed forces to protect their country and to fight the hated Troodon and take the island for themselves. Armed with basic weapons and training, they still have enough strength and natural weapons to show any foolish army who dares to enter their territory that they made a bad mistake.

2: Crossbow Infantry

Like the Troodon, Oviraptors aren't very partial to gun powder weapons. So they remain with the trusted crossbow. Their natural strength and keen eyes allow them to fire multiple arrows at a time that hit their marks.

3: Heavy Infantry

Armed to the teeth, these soldiers are given some of the best training in the Kingdom of Ova. Their thick armor and heavier weapons slows them down a tad, but it makes them more then a challenge for any foe wishing to strike them down. Their skills often match and surpass that of their foes when facing them head on.

4: Utahraptor

These large raptors are the favored seek and destroy units in the Oviraptor armies. They are nimble and quick, able to think out problems most creatures would have trouble with. The animals are able to track targets miles away and hone in quickly to kill. They are also handy at picking away enemy units as they enter thick brush or by hitting them at the sides or back. Their size and abilities allow them to handle themselves in a sustained battle.

5: Black Beast

The largest of the abelisaurids, Black Beasts are massive. They are easily one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs on the planet, able to go toe to toe with most carnivores in its area and come out on top. Their strength and endurance are legendary, even making some dragons think a second time before crossing them. They are temperamental as well, so Oviraptors are cautious around them, even those raised in captivity.

6: Moon Cannon

The opposite of its Troodon counterpart, Moon Cannons are powered by the light of the moon. This of course, means they aren't nearly as common or cheap as Sun Cannons. However, Oviraptors use them more in select cases where they are most certainly needed and to devastating effect.

7: Pterosaur Air Patrols

Riding atop of selectively bred pterosaur breeds, Oviraptors use their flying mounts to dive bomb and slash their way through enemy ranks. As well, dropping bombs or firing arrows if taking a dive is too risky.

8: Tzitzimitl Replicas

Replicas of fertility and star gods worshipped by the Oviraptors alongside their patron goddess Luna, these skeletal warriors know no remorse. They know no sleep. They will only fight and destroy their enemies, lest they be destroyed in combat. Even then, it is hard to kill that which has no life.

9: Lunar Fanatics

Lunar Fanatics are devoted to Luna and Luna alone. They are off kilter and have no concept of self preservation. Their invigorated strength and determination allows them to withstand blows that would lay low a normal Oviraptor and push on before either they die, or their enemies do.

10: Lunar Priests

Wielding the might of the moon, Lunar Priests use the night to confuse and disorient their foes and offer their own the ability to lie undetected and sneak about. As well, they can strengthen their forces and use their magic to control gravity and fire bolts of lunar magic.

11: Lunar Grenadiers

Wielding dozens of grenades primed with lunar magic pulses, Lunar Grenadiers love to jump into the fray and toss their grenades about in the enemy lines. While they aren't prone to misfire, and allow their wielder enough time to escape the blast if they time it right and throw it far enough, they can be damaged and set off prematurely if hit with a bolt of magic. Still, Lunar Grenadiers care not for their own lives. Just that they take out as many foes as they can before the battle is done.

12: Gatormen

Brutish and strong, Gatormen are anthropomorphic alligators that live in the swampy areas of Ova. Because of their tenacity and their ability to survive and even thrive despite attempts to oust them, the Oviraptors took them in and outfitted them with heavy armor and weapons to be used as line breakers. Their tenacity gives them the perfect edge in a fight and their thick hide and armor makes them hard to take down. Not to mention that even with heavy weapons and armor, they can still move quickly in them.

Are you writing a Civ:VI mod here?

No, no, keep going. Just wanna know.

4567314
I'm not sure I could 'mod' anything. More in line with giving all the factions set units for the benifit of both myself and future writers of the Shimmerverse. That and it's fun~ Though I would be open to it if someone could possibly do something like a mod, but I don't think that's very likely.

4567711
Wait, is this the Chengar Qordath Shimmerverse?

4567959
I am partly sure he calls his Freeport series the Shimmerverse.

4567995
I... I didn't know that. I honestly don't read those stories myself so I wouldn't know what they are called.

4568410
It's ok. The end result of this is that I am an idiot who can't tell the difference with his tiny brain.

4568430
Eh, don't beat yourself over it. Things like this happen.
