I'll be honest, this site looks cleaner.
I really appreciate the fact that I can go back and read older messages, as that saves a few things.
The new look for the logo is something I definitely approve of.
Stuff is working smoother- bugs and all -and I just appreciate it.
Thank you, Knighty, for all the work you put into this site!
Caveats:
The emoticons. I really appreciated how unique this site was compared to others, and that hasn't changed outside of a certain downside: The fact that standard emoticons are now supported is... jarring, to say the least. And I personally feel disappointed that they were included.Also, I noticed the "Preview" option for blogs is gone, and my friend Watercolor noticed that Editing seems to have disappeared as well. This gives me the impression that Knighty was focused more on appearance and trends than the quality we all adored this site for. I'm no programmer, so I don't know what was and wasn't a necessary sacrifice for this update, but... *sigh* it's just another few chinks in the otherwise impenetrable mail that was FiMfiction. ADDRESSED
I'm going to need to figure out a lot of new features, some of which I feel were unnecessary additions that affect little to nothing that was needed.
I cannot use Pip (My mobile device. Useless as a phone, but she's pretty handy as a way to watch YouTube) to reply to comments and PMs anymore: as my freaking profile picture won't get out of the way, along with a list of buttons that won't work. The mobile site was fine as-is, now it's trashed. That, indeed THAT is what pisses me off the most. Why? Because now it might be even harder to get on here, and talk with my friends.
That brings me to a final point about this update... was it necessary?
Well, the short answer is no. No it is not, and I personally was completely satisfied with how this site was yesterday. But I have no place to say where this site goes, because it's not my site. This site belongs to Knighty, and he's giving us permission to use it. It's a gift.
Yet... even though it is a gift, there's such a thing as giving too much.
And that's my opinion of this new update: it's good, but it's too much.
I've probably overlooked a few features, but until Sam is fixed, I might not be on here a lot. I might not even be able to respond to PMs that much anymore.
I'm so incredibly sorry, but it looks like I might have to be going on hiatus. I'll still be writing stories as much as I can, but this might be the last you hear of me socially until Sam's back.
I understand all the work you put into this, Knighty, but...

It’s a good freakin’ thing that some Fimfiction userscripts still work.
Honestly, I personally prefer how the site looked before the update.
I actually liked how it looked before more than now. I dunno, it lost a bit of it’s fun charm. The emoticons are still there, so I appreciate that. I feel a little bad for feeling this way, since this probably took a while to remake.

Oh, by the way, have you seen my latest blog? I commented on your user page about it, but you didn’t respond, so I assume you didn’t get it... Anyway, there’s a certain something in the blog that you may want to see.
All I’ll say is... Well, actually, I can’t think of a hint that would spoil the surprise, so... Never mind. 
Yeah I agree. There are things I like about this update but there are also things that I don’t like about it but mainly on the phone. Infact I wrote this on the phone.

Not gonna lie. My thoughts are almost exactly what you said. Lucky, my phone let's me switch to the desktop version so I can get around. Still, I miss the unique colors, tags, eta... it's really sad. I hope they fix this. Other then that, it's not to bad in some areas.

I miss the banners. I installed a userscript specifically to get banners back, as I was already reading stories from Fimfiction before I ever made an account. When the banners were first removed, I didn’t really notice, probably because I only ever spent time actually reading. But when I discovered userscripts, and noticed that the banners were missing, I hopped on my first chance.
But they’re gone now.

To be abundantly clear: I do respect Knighty's decisions with this site, and several of the update are things I'll admit I too desired to see. Knighty has said he's aware of the issues on some mobile devices, and he's working to fix them. So it might not be as long as I thought until I can make a full return. Socially, anyways. The lack of ability to use my phone to talk with/respond to my friends was what pissed me off the most.
So, with a finished story to greet the new look, I bid you all farewell... for now.
