The Bridge: Prisoners of War Timeline · 7:27am Jun 2nd, 2017
Red Thunder's Note: While Prisoners of War does follow a lot of events similar to that of The Bridge, there are major differences of origin and time that makes it its own section within the multiverse. One of the major ones being that of the Dazzlings' origins, relationship (they're sisters now) and how much earlier everything takes place compared to that of the Equestria Girls, Godzilla, and The Bridge canon.
The timeline will be updated in the future as time goes on.
1008 - 1011 - Adagio, Aria & Sonata (The Dazzlings) are born. Unfortunately, their mother dies three years later due to Gem Rot.
1027 - The Dazzlings leave Atlantis and make their first venture onto land due to the ongoing plague of Gem Rot infecting the sirens residing within the underwater nation.
1028 - The Dazzlings begin a three-day siege against Canterlot only to be banished to the human realm on the fourth day by Starswirl the Bearded. After being banished to the human world the Dazzlings survive and plot to regain their former strength and return back to Equestria for several centuries.
1613 - Grand King Ghidorah attacks the Xilians and in a desperate attempt to protect his planet Praetorian Guard 094 knocked out Controller 011 and bonded his DNA with the samples collected from Grand King Ghidorah and thus, Monster X was born.
1788 - The Space Hunter Nebula M aliens borrow Monster X from the Xilian's for a planet brokering mission. It is during these jobs that Monster X met Gigan, signifying the start of their friendship.
1883 - The Space Hunter Nebula M aliens develop Megalon as another cyborg to assist Gigan during missions, occasionally borrowing Monster X for assistance.
1957 - The Seatopians borrow both Gigan and Megalon to attack the Terrans due to the constant bomb tests that could be felt underground. Unfortunately, due to the interference of Godzilla Sr. & Jet Jaguar, the duo of Nebulans was forced to tactically retreat.
1971 - The Albino Hyper Gyaos (later coined "Irys") is born, signifying the start of bitter and intense hatred between the two kaiju due to Irys and her flock of Gyaos terrorizing the Atlanteans of Terra.
1977 - The Xilians, Nebulans, and other alien forces invade Terra, sending out various kaiju to face against the Terran Defenders. It is during this war that Monster X first encounters Godzilla Jr; almost beating him in the end but being defeated after being overpowered by the supercharged Junior. Both Gigan and Megalon suffer defeat as well.
1983 - Bagan recruits Monster X, Gigan, Megalon, Irys and variety of other kaiju to absorb energy from various realms in order to revive himself at full strength. Monster X is then sent to the Human Realm with Irys in order to seek out these sources of energy. It is during this period of time that he encounters Aria Blaze for the first time, starting a chain reaction of events that leads to their eventual union.
1984 - The Dazzlings invade Canterlot High in a ploy to absorb the magical energies of the Rainboom and almost come close to succeeding. However, due to Sunset Shimmers interference, the Dazzlings lose the Battle of the Bands and their gems in the process.
1985 - Now free of Bagan's orders, the newly coined Dark Hunters return back to the human realm. Monster X reunites with Aria once again and eventually marries her. Gigan, Irys, and Megalon opt to stay and continue their new family with X in the human realm.
1986 - You are here.
Appreciate all the work it appears you've put into this. I'm not too familiar with the crossover franchise (if there is one, as opposed to just using Kaiju in the generic sense), but love me some long-running Dazzle stories. I think Aria, especially, needs more spotlight time, so I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. Haven't started reading yet, but it's near the top of my list when I do find the time.
Would you say that reading The Bridge first is recommended? It sounds like this timeline/universe is different enough that it wouldn't be necessary.
4555850 Yes and no. You can read The Bridge: Prisoners of War on its own to see how the Dazzlings handle the situation and what not but, to be honest, a lot of the previous relationships with the kaiju are set up because of the Bridge and there is a MASSIVE amount of character development for Aria made there. Also, it's where Aria and X's relationship is formed so I'd definitely consider giving it a looksie.
However, the Bridge has a large cast and focuses more on the Terran Defenders (Godzilla Jr. and co.) alongside the Mane Six rather than moments with the Dark Hunters and Dazzlings (though they do have their own arc), compared to here where I'm focusing more on the Dazzlings and Dark Hunters.
Either way, you're giving yourself a great read.
