Another way I'd like MLP portrayed, but with a MALE protagonist for a change (Not being sexist, it's a matter of preference, not racism)
As you know, most people started making their own MLP series and fics a long, long time ago, back when there was only 1 season of MLP. In my case, I began Starfleet Magic (Formerly Magic is Believing) When there were only TWO seasons.
Therefore even when certain other episodes aired and more seasons came, I was already much too far ahead to go back and change things. All those changes would require a complete and total rewrite of the entire series ALL OVER again... "NO WAY" just making as they were was hard enough already. One small change could end up ruining a lot of my own plotting and preferences.
This was my own series, my own plot, my own preference; I poured a lot of time and work to make the fics what they are. I cannot and will not go back and rewrite hundreds of chapters of so many plots, because of a few simply technicalities that can be solved so easily. without having to do so.
Therefore, I only allowed MLP canon upwards of Magical Mystery Cure, and the THE FIRST Equestria Girls movie. After which all other seasons, episodes, characters, other Equestria girl movies (Even the upcoming MLP movie itself) they did not happen. they are no longer part of the canon in my world.
So if I DO decide to add whatever was in those seasons and movies into MY verse, I am free to revise them and use them anyway I see fit to my preferences.
As for Equestria itself... even WITHIN the actual MLP canon, I've made many changes to accomodate my Starfleet series AND my preferences.
-Ponville, Canterlot... those villages had always existed, and were founded even LONG before Celestia's time.
-Celestia herself is only over ONE-THOUSAND years old... NOT Ten-thousand
-Hearth's Warming Eve DID form that union of ponies, but DID NOT play any role in founding states and countries like Ponyville, Canterlot and things like that.
-The Elements of Harmony did not come from THE TREE OF HARMONY; The elements were simply CREATED by Galaxia, and infused with their incredible powers. (There is no Tree of Harmony, and no power-source of Equestria like that)
Things like that... it's the only way to properly accommodate to my own verse and my preferences.
...That's just the way it is (When you read in my world, you'll read by my rules)
I don't think you have to explain yourself for creating your own canon. After all, you put the "Alternate Universe" tag on your stories, so that means you don't have to follow the show canon.
Out of curiosity though, where did you get the idea that Celestia is ten-thousand years old? Celestia's age was never specified in the show or in the comics. In fact, you're idea of Celestia's age may not be that different from her canon age.

Unfortunately, most people (Namely mockers and bullies) don't get or refuse to see the message and tend to write up lies to trick people in believing falsehoods, so I set them straight.
Originally, Celestia is believed to be OVER 1,000 years old, but many fans and sites suggest she is much older.
-Some say the war of Discord was from 3000 years ago.
-Or that Celestia participated in wars much older.

My point is that the only thing confirmed in the canon of the show about Celestia's age is her being over 1000 years old. Any sites that make claims like that are fan made. Same with the supposed wars, and when the battle with Discord happened. They're fan made and NOT based on actual facts.

and I also figure gotta STOP combining COMICS with SHOWS, they are still completely different canons and verses.
When alternate dimension are in play the author no exceptions if goes against the canon of the show well to bad alternate rules go in effect
