So, as you know, I number my chapters as well as give them titles, mostly for indexing purposes so I can locate specific chapters easier. What you don't know is that, while I don't title them, I do number the originals files on my computer.
I just realized I had the onsite story up to Chapter 25, when I had 26 chapters in my story folder. So, needless to say, I wondered where I had fudged the numbers and began to meticulously work my way through the documents, trying to find out where I messed up.
Half an hour later, I found chapter 6.5 on the onsite story. The Omake. This could have been solved so much faster if I hadn't started from 26 and worked back...
I don't consider Omakes as actual chapters that should have their own number, mostly because my Omakes will be slight variations of already existing chapters, so they'll get numbers like 6.5, or 10.5.
I seriously need to sit down and make a list of my writing process to review whenever I confuse myself like this.
And that is why I do my process with 2 files (doc and gdoc)
