Episode reviews: Uprooted/ Between Dark and Dawn/ A Trivial Pursuit

Okay, quick talk about three episodes. I know I haven't been doing these weekly but I am behind on mlp. Season 8 wasn't... as good as I would have hoped so I stopped keeping track each week. My bad. Season 9, from what I've seen, has picked up the slack. So there's some positive. I'm going to try and watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day until I get caught up. Don't worry, I'll be ready for the

Episode Review: Father Knows Best/School Raze

    1: Father Knows Best

Well this is it folks. I have finally finished season 8.... I think it's my least favorite season. Not entirely bad, but just not as good as others. I'm surprised really. I never thought I'd see a day I'd like a season less then season 4 but here it is. So let's start off by going over the last two episodes of this season shall we?

New Chapter coming soon (The Greatest Treasure/Fate Pony)

Heyo everyone. It seems I've got my writing mojo back. Well now I've finally started the next chapter of TGT and my Fate pony fic. They should be done by the weekend if not tomorrow. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

    (Spoiler review) What Lies Beneath

Still need to catch up on season 8. Don't worry. I won't be out of the loop once season 9 ends. I plan on binging the show until then. So hopefully I'll get a review done a day. So let's start with this one.

Nightmare Moon forces 1 · 2:26am Apr 28th, 2017

As with the chaos and Celestia forces, I decided to do one with a list of Nightmare Moon's own forces. Like the other two, this isn't all of them but a good general overview of them and I will update more units in the future. Unfortunately, I don't have an artist to make all of these so you'll have to make due with just some short passages for now.

1: Warlock

Warlocks are the great unicorn magi of the Nightmare Moon. They serve Nightmare Moon without question and are more than willing to slay the innocent in her name. Warlocks are proficient in using 'Realm of Darkness' in their sorcery, being one of the few beings on the planet that can use the magic without being consumed by it. This allows them abilities and spells that no normal unicorn has access to. Warlocks can keep units alive, shield them, and harass enemy lines by shifting through the shadows and striking wherever they so please. They can even 'change' existing units into zombie-esque creatures after they die. They are best known for their ‘soul’ magic, which is done by taking the souls of the living and using them in their arcane rituals. Using souls they have the ability to summon and control shadow daemons.

2: Shadowbolt

Nightmare Moon’s premier flying force. Used as both scouts and elite troops, these pegasi can reach speeds most other pegasi can only dream of. This is partially because they are gifted with 'shadow magic', which enhances their speed. They are quick and to the point in their fights, leaving no survivors if they can help it. Adding to their quick reflexes and flight prowess, they are gifted with magical blades with they can summon around their forehooves. Using these, they can make short work of their enemies as they can cut through most materials.

3: Shadow Guard

The foot soldiers of the dreaded mare in the moon. Fear and loyalty to their dark goddess drives them forth to conquer in her name. They are a coordinated force, rivaling Equestria's own Honored Guard. They will lay their lives down for their commanders without question.

4: Shadows

The simple minded cannon fodder of Nightmare Moon. These creations are used to keep the enemy busy and weed out the numbers of their enemies. They are commonly used by Warlocks as their own personal army. However, they can still overwhelm enemies and are capable of projectile magic which can take off a pony's heads. Since they are created out of pure 'Shadow' magic, they can swirve around foes like the shadows they once were.
Each Warlock can create their own type of Shadow, though the regular pony shape is the norm. It requires skill and power to create powerful and strange shadows.

5: Shadow Behemoth

Daemons of the shadow realm are sometimes called into the physical dimension. Shadow Behemoths are one such creature. Either summoned through portals or possessing nightmare cultists, these strong creatures are used to break enemy lines and take down strong opponents. Given their immense strength and endurance, few can keep up with them and fewer still can kill them. Their bodies are akin to large ponies, though they have draconic traits. A long, draconic tail trails behind them, able to break bones and metals with ease. They can look Knights in the eyes and can barrel right through them, given their 'magically' enhanced strength. Spikes cover their backs and heads, earning them a terrifying visage.

6: Blade of Nightmares

Few dare to imagine the horror that is the Blades. These large daemons of shadow can turn the tide of battle within moments of their summoning. Mortal weapons cannot harm them and only the strongest of magical attacks can do so. Even then, it was known that Starswirl the Bearded had written of the terror he felt upon facing one.
Blades of Nightmare are named because of their appearance. They are basically a collected a spinning blades, held together by dark magic that mimic a serpent in appearance. Their shriek is known to deafen those who hear it as well as causing mere mortals to run in fear. This is caused by them using their magic to slash their blades against each other. Said blades can shred any creature it fights in seconds. Blades of Nightmare can come in different sizes, with some rivaling a grown dragon.

7: Shadow Knights

Corrupted Knights who have pledged themselves to the dark goddess. Their bodies, souls, and armor are heavily warped, giving them a frightful appearance. They have lost all connection to their past lives, only living to fight the enemies of Nightmare Moon. Even trained Knights can have trouble with their dark cousins.

8: Shadow Gators

Beasts of darkness, these daemonic creatures are used to hunt down enemies, able to track their target for years. They are unyielding in their pursuit of their prey, effectively the blood hounds of Nightmare Moon. They are also used during battle to split enemy groups into pieces, so as to pick them off easier. Shadow Gators are warped land dwelling gators, so they have longer and more upright postures then their aquatic bretherin. This allows them to go great speeds and have a similar purpose to wardogs and other attack animals.

9: Dire Wolves

Long ago, the dire wolves pledged their lives in service to Luna, for they were among the few species who adored the night. When she became Nightmare Moon, they followed her orders still, fighting to the last for their lunar goddess. Giant wolves, towering over ponies, Dire Wolves have long since lost their sapience and have become nothing more then animals.

10: Wereponies

Ponies who have fallen to a dark curse, they became nothing more than savage beasts. Used as extra muscle and terror troops, their killing rage can only be controlled by the best Warlocks. With their speed, immense strength, and massive healing factor, wereponies are a forced to be reckoned with. Due to their only weakness being silver, they can survive wounds that would kill lesser creatures.

11: Shadow Wraith

Ghostly spectres native to the shadow realm, they are summoned forth to reap the souls of those foolish enough to stand against their goddess. They are lost souls who have been heavily corrupted by their stay in the realm of nightmares. They seek to collect souls to help ease their pain and suffering. Their ghastly wails are known to drive mortals insane with fear.

12: Nocturne

The vampiric cousins of native Equestrians, they branched off the evolutionary tree several thousands of years ago during the ‘great split’. Taking the role of nocturnal predators, Luna had taken an interest in their kind as her personal bodyguards. Thusly, she kidnapped several children of their race and brainwashed them into her personal guard.
Trained in several ways of battle, they are a deadly foe. Not to mention their predatory instincts and cunning, which have laid low even the greatest of warriors. Their personal armor is laid with enchantments to protect them, though they wear little armor due to preferences and keeping a more aerodynamic matters. Though, they wear Nightmare Moon’s insignia proudly on their hind-armor.

Pretty creative and scary, I wouldn't want to face any of theses threats.
