In Yugansky, there have been reports of a hut deep in the forests of the reserve. Hikers have been reporting seeing a strange house walking among the trees. Any who have approached the house felt a chill of fear in their bones and the cackle of what was thought to be the laugh of an old woman. Some hikers have been reported missing, adding to the number of mysterious disappearances over the decades.
Whispers of old legends are spoken of by the locals. In the smallest of villages, one can sit at a tavern and listen to the tales passed down from generation to generation of an old crone, a witch who dwells deep within the heart of the forest. She goes where she pleases and her house walks on three legs. It is said those who are unfortunate enough to meet this woman and go into her house never come out. She never chases her prey, but lures them in. She is described as rail thin, very old, and hideous to behold. Her hunger is insatiable and she craves the flesh of mortals.
If one catches her interest, she may bestow magical gifts with a terrible price.
Woe to those who become lost within the forest.
Woe to those who happen across a thatched hut.
Woe to those who go up to its door and knock.
Woe to those who are invited inside.
Behold they will see the great stove that stretches the length of the hut.
Behold the fire that cooks the flesh of men.
Baba Yaga hungers, a hunger never satisfied.
Does she bless or does she curse? The stories vary. Her power is mysterious. Her legend has many tales.
She is Baba Yaga, the Witch of the Forest and she awaits the arrival of a fallen queen.
