Okay, I have a question, and it relates to something I've been planning for my one year on Fimfic anniversary. Basically, what I wanted to do for it was create a open to anyone collab about what would happen if one of your favorite MLP characters came to your world, your house for a week, and what you would do with them. Problem is, I'm not sure this is a good idea anymore, considering how well my last open to anyone collab went, seeing as how it's been a over a month and yet nobody has submitted chapters for it even if they said they'd write some. Now I know some writers take longer then others, but I am beginning to wonder if they've forgotten or just don't care enough. Sorry if I'm whining or anything, but I really needed to get this out of my system.
That depends really. For those like me, we would have time to read and comment but would be mostly occupied with work that writing would either take a very long time or not progress at all due to our work load, work times and etc. Just to note, I work in the hotel industry so both time and work load can be very erratic. Life problems suddenly dropping in also falls under this category.
Another possibility is that those who have the time but not enough self confidence to live up to expectations. One example is this open collab which would be no stranger to varying degrees of writing quality and would most likely be compared to the other chapters. They might fear that criticism, they might not and instead be fearing self expectations.
If that makes sense, then that makes one of us. Idea is there but vocabulary and sentence structuring is not. Hope this helps at least a little bit.
This seems like a cool idea, but yo need to advertise it in order for it to really kick off. I can't really say too much, and I'm not so sure if I'll be able to help, no because I don't want to, but because this concept isn't the most interesting to me, because I haven't had any motivation to write recently, and homework. I'd suggest making posts about this on certain groups asking for advice and to get the word out there for people interested, just watch out for haters and trolls.
Sorry! I've got a pretty good start on a chapter for Rainbow Dash. Unfortunately, my main other story was WAY overdue for a chapter. Now that its published, I can focus on the colab. (And has it really been a month already? Wow. I have no sense of time lol)
And yeah, that second colab seems interesting as well.
