Writing Thoughts Review #1 · 10:01pm Mar 8th, 2017

So I've been thinking very recently.
(Always a dangerous thing to do because of ideas.)
If a story is a retelling of a pony's life (in any POV) if it surpasses 40,000 words would that make it an adventure?
After all, the more detail there is the harder it gets to say that it's JUST Slice of Life and/or Adventure.
That's not to say that there can't BE 40,000+ word Slice of Life stories, it just gets harder to categorize especially if it's like a biography of a pony (like Star Swirl, Celestia, Luna, Mane 6, Starlight, Sunset, etc.).
(Famous example of 40,000+ word Slice of Life story: Royal Guards in Training)
After all it's not every day that Star Swirl fights sirens.
But what if it's an OC or just a series of like mini adventures? Is it still Slice of Life?
Possibly.
One does always need more detail for OCs without getting into Adventure territory.
Ultimately it's up to the Author if they want to tag or make it Slice of Life or Adventure.
Hopefully they'll know what it is for sure though.
Until next time, peace out.
