I'm a fairly skilled hermetic wizard, and I could teach you the esoteric arts, if you can prove that you are worthy of my instruction.

Have some wisdom from one of my friends on a different site.

Many people on here are miserable and depressed, which (psychological and biochemical factors aside) takes as much if not more effort than being happy and confident, as it requires sustained following of certain specific patterns of belief, thought, and action.

I applaud this dedication to the task of bearing the world’s pains, Christ-like, upon your shoulders, and seek only to assist.

    I haven't even started watching season 9.

I really should get on that. Probably re-watch season 8 as a refresher too.

I don't want to be spoiled anyways.

It's been a while since I posted one of these.

Life's been a bitch, but at the same time things are going okay.

I actually started writing a book...

    A self-help book.

I just got a new hat!

I got a proper MAGA hat, not one of the Chinese fake ones on Amazon. Got it on the Donald Trump web store.

I named it The Red Maga.

So life has been kicking my ass a bit.

As the title said, life has been kicking my ass a bit, but I'm still moving forward. I've finally decided to start creating my planned order of practitioners of the esoteric arts, and I've got a lot of interesting stuff planned for my near future. Things should start improving relatively soon as far as my living situation is concerned, and I'm gonna tear life a new asshole if it doesn't stop

So for a little less than two months... · 3:05am Mar 5th, 2017

So for a little less than two months, I've been learning about the esoteric arts. I've gotten to the point where I am getting fairly reliable results with minimal effort, and am able to mix styles of practice for my own use.

That's right, I can use fucking magick.

Yes, magick is real.

No, it's not stage magic.

It's not like Skyrim or MLP either.

Magick is a lot more subtle than popular culture generally imagines magic to be. It requires a lot of mental focus and the ability to temporarily bend your perception of the world. If you are good at meditation, you will have a much easier time than most people at magick. Just make sure to be careful not to try something you aren't ready to try yet.

I know I'm not ready to evoke any of the demons from the Ars Goetia (Lesser Key of Solomon the King), and I probably won't be ready to do so for a long time. I have made contact with Kothar-wa-Khasis (Canaanite god of smithing), as well as evoked a fire spirit. I also came up with a system to using something similar to norse runes to make talisman-like artifacts out of mundane tools.

Many of you may think I'm crazy, full of shit, or stupid, but I am most assuredly none of those things (at least about this subject). I've gotten replicatable results with my practice that cannot be explained away.

I haven't used any curses or anything like that, but I have a few nasty little numbers in my backlog in case I need one.

I'm just waiting for the opportunity to be able to say "It's magick, I don't gotta explain shit." and look like a badass.

If you want to learn about the esoteric arts, feel free to shoot me a PM anytime.

So, claim your prize for proving magic is real. There is a lot of prize money available, nobody has ever collected it for some reason. If you have real magic, make yourself a millionaire.

4444048 The issue is that magick is so inconsistent in some ways that makes it hard to quantify with observers. Hopefully as mankind collectively learns more about quantum mechanics we will find a way to adequately explain it in a way that people won't consider the ravings of a madman.

The issue is that belief plays a big part in whether or not a working succeeds, and an observer that is doubtful of the working can detrimentally influence the working. It's just not practical to do a working with several people who aren't open to the idea that magick is actually a thing observing the working. I've had the benefit of having some 'supernatural' things occur to me in my life that has made me open to the idea of magick in the first place though, so I've had an easier time of it than most new practitioners.

I've had a few encounters that I cannot reconcile with science, but I refuse to call them magic due to my skeptic nature. In my opinion, calling the unknown 'magic' immediately discredits it, but that is my opinion as a skeptic. I say this as somebody who acknowledges that there is as of yet unexplained phenomenon.

Calling it magic is just bullshit handwaving to dismiss the need to explain it, in my experience.

All that said, continue to explore the unknown, noble traveler. As a Discordian, I mean this with all sincerity.

4444075 Actually, I've tried to explain the things away myself without immediately resorting to 'magick' too. I am the kind of person that isn't content to just accept things either without being able to convince myself. That said, I do practice malleable-thought, which had allowed me to engage the practice without initially believing in it enough that I could reach a real conclusion. I don't exactly treat magick like a science, but at the same time, I don't just accept it blindly.

Keep in mind that I call it 'magick' instead of 'magic'. In my mind, 'magic' refers to things like stage magic and card tricks, while 'magick' refers to the real stuff.

And thank you for the support in my exploration into the esoteric arts.

silly nihilist you so lovable

Can you describe a world to me that would be exactly like the one we live in, with an exception that magick wouldn't work in it?
