Pony POV Series Open World Building Chat! Bugbear! · 9:21pm Feb 27th, 2017

Since SMILE doesn't exist in the Pony POV Series timelines, (and thus Bon Bon was never a secret agent) how do you think the Bugbear escaping Tartarus was handled? I am asking YOU the readers! More than that! I, the author, am asking you, the readers, to discuss, AMONG YOURSELVES, how the Bugbear was dealt with in the Pony POV Verse! Chat! Discuss! Brainstorm! This all inclusive! Speak to each other!

Most likely a Guard mobilization headed by Shining Armor(or his Sun/Lunar guard equivalent(s)) with several giant- beast-specialists(there is no way fluttershy is the only talk-to-animals pony, even if she is one of the best), and one or more Princesses standing by in case things get out of hoof.

The only justification I've heard for Bon Bon's actions in Slice of Life is that Bugbear is pulling a Ridley is much more intelligent than it seems.

4438569 Actually skipped that episode, for that and other reasons. If I hear "special friends" one more time I'm going to punch something.

I think it's just the Pony Word for it, like Never Heard From Again is their word for dying. And how Peeved is a dirty word.

I figured in canon that Bugbear was some kind of chieftain or prince of his kind. First, because on the map of greater Equestria, there's a little realm that appears to be the land of the bugbears. Second, I can't imagine why Celestia had to disband an agency and cover up its existence when the bugbear broke free, unless he was someone who had enough political influence to make things uncomfortable for Equestria should he tell the world about SMILE.

In the Pony POV verse, I would agree with 4438438 on a specialized guard unit to quietly capture the bugbear again and return him to Tartarus with no one the wiser. Since Trixie in this verse is far more skilled and reliable, I could see Celestia bringing in such a top illusionist to make the bugbear's escape and attacks look like the work of a rogue owlbear or something.

4438606 What's so bad about that phrase?

4438774 It was a compromise that satisfied no one; the "family" groups who hasbro(and every other kids show that isn't SU) are scared of can still find plenty wrong with "special friends" living together, and the rabid shippers(and us normal fans) got stiffed in an episode that was supposed to be full-on fanon brought to life. Vinyl and Octavia were portrayed as just roommates despite all that shipping, and that worked just fine. Why the heck couldn't Lyra and Bon-Bon get that?

4438610 Wait, when did they use "Never heard from again" as a synonym for death in the show? I always thought that was a video game reference like all the other video game powers and stuff during the Rumors arc, and it was just from a game I hadn't heard of.

Sleepless in Ponyville.

4439971 Ooooh, yeah! Huh. I had no idea that's where that came from.
