Status Update, A New Story, And A Free Game to 1 Lucky (Unlucky?) Pony/Person · 10:13pm Feb 9th, 2017
I really want to say I am sorry for my long hiatus from writing, my nerves have been too wracked to even attempt writing anything worth a crap to be frank. My brother's health has went to major shit this last year, and while I do find time to read during appointments sometimes or when I have some free time to myself, I just haven't been able to deal with trying to explain things or argue stuff.
Whelp, his condition has somewhat become more stable and I have been getting more time to myself and I have been working on plotting out where to take this story. After reading through some comments and to keep from having to get into stupid arguments over stupid stuff, I've decided to keep this story on Hiatus a little longer as I continue plotting out the prequel which will continue into the current arc. It will not be a huge story as I will have a lot of time skips in it catching only the most important parts of Sunset's life from becoming Celestia's student to her current situation.
I know this will suck for a lot of people, but I've also decided to write a new story while trying to get everything plotted and smoothed out for A Whole New World and it's prequel. It is actually a story that came to mind from a comment someone made, which I can't find at the moment, though I haven't sorted through everything with a fine toothed comb. Though I do have highly qualified people doing their best looking. Let's look in on them, shall we?
Okay, thanks guys. Guess they haven't found it either. Maybe they need bigger combs? The story will take off from the Anon a miss comic and involve a certain time traveling mad man and a blue box.
Finally, I want to thank everyone for their patience waiting for an update, and thank everyone who favorited, added the story to their bookshelf, followed me or left comment. I recently came across a bundle of games at Humblebundle.com for $15 with a game in it worth like $50 on steam. While I don't really have a tome of time to play it, I couldn't pass up the offer when I have the extra money to actually cover it. The thing is, I also got a game I already had in the bundle so I took it as a giftcode instead. I just remembered this story existed yesterday and was planning on rereading it, but couldn't remember what it was called. Definitely glad it's coming back, it was one I really enjoyed when I found it back in the day. Is the prequel going to be a separate story or done in flashbacks/explanations to Twilight in the main one?
I'll take the Naruto game, need something new to try out.

4415994 I'm glad you liked it, I'm trying to decide if it should be a separate store or if I should just add the chapters before what I have done already. Though the idea of Sunset telling Twilight about it may be another good way to go with it. It is something I will have to work on as I plot everything out.

My advice would be to integrate it into the main story, either through Sunset telling Twilight or interlude chapters. Having it as a separate story would feel a bit clunky, and having it as prologue chapters would take away a lot of the mystery surrounding Sunset, and make the first chapters feel a bit awkward. At most, maybe a short prologue where Sunset leaves Equestria, ending as she crosses the mirror.
4416196 I may end up doing it as flashbacks told to Twilight, though I want to put stuff in that Sunset herself wouldn't know, so I'm not too sure how to fit that in with Sunset's flashback stories to Twilight. Would it matter if there was stuff that Sunset didn't know in those flashbacks, or the flashbacks being in someone else's pov?

You could go the Finding Home route and have the backstory parts happen while Sunset is telling Twilight, with the full backstory being shown to the reader as opposed to just what Sunset knows/is telling her. If you do something like that, point it out in the author's notes and put in bits to show how much was told.
