Random Idea #41: Post-apocalyptic Kingdom Hearts Ask Fic · 9:00am Feb 9th, 2017
And idea that's been brewing for a while to make my Multiverse Idea be interesting.
POV character wakes up as a floating, featureless blob and has to figure out memories and wtf happened. Eventually figures out it can have legs and wanders around, finding a time-locked and abandoned island, with some stuff frozen in mid air. Finds Heartless of a sort washing onto the ocean and eating reality. Locks eye with POV, advances towards it. Frantic memories pulled up, accidentally summons a 6pdr muzzle loaded cannon, and vaporizes it. Destroyed bits flow into it, clinging, empowering, returning memories along with a new, sudden hunger for more.
This is probably going to be Pinkie.
Oh, and an Ask Fic, since she can later see a floating chat box, to attempt to clear up the inevitable questions about what the fuck is this that will arise.
Problem: Still not much of an end game idea planned out.
Remember: Lots and lots of zippers.
Everywhere. No exceptions.

1) the furthest I ever got in Kingdom Hearts was the first level. I never figured out how to leave the island, and it wasn't my game.
2) everything's dead, Jim.
3) I still don't know how to get off this island.

Yeah...
Like the series myself, but a prologue that takes hours and hours, and has next to no bearing on the plot for another 60+ hours is sadly something of a bugbear players both new and old simply have to get used to.
It's a fun romp if you're willing to invest the time, though. Nice mix of serious and silly you don't see very often in AAA games.
It's got... Well, a lot of heart.

I mean, I basically played volleyball with a stick for 2 hours. Was about to leave my mom's friend's house when I finally found the item that advances the level.
There was this one pretty cool SI KH fic called "Heartless". SI wakes up a Heartless, proceeds to be very worried about where in the timeline she is in. Fic went dead after a bit, but it had a cool scene where she went to find the "Kingdom Hearts" and found a Keyblade of darkness there.
Figured I could use the place as the last stand for every "loop" of my increasingly bleak Multiverse idea.
The first scene ends with the Sacrifice burning out his soul, remembering his past life, then whispering, with golden eyes glowing, "Suuuper Man...." Then eyes burn out, as everything else flares to life, resetting the multiverse and repairing the inevitable collapse of order that always resulted.

Yeah... I was stuck for a minor eternity on KH1's intro the first time as well.
Think I even, I kid you not, had to wait until the weekend was over, and look up just what the heck I was supposed to be doing at break at school. (No internet back home back then.)
I was damn near frothing at the mouth when I read about that damned cave you HAVE to find. Really amazed that made it through play-tests.
