NFL Playoffs - Night Two Recap · 1:20am Jan 9th, 2017
Well, wildcard weekend is over and the table is set for the Divisional rounds.
New York Giants (11-6) @ Green Bay Packers (11-6): Speaking of tables...Aaron Rodgers' prophetic statement that his team would 'run the table' still looks to be true. It took the Packers a quarter or two to actually wake up and start playing...well, what it really took was their star wide receiver Jordy Nelson being taken out of the game due to a rib injury. After that, the offense clicked and Rodgers went mad, and even ended the half on one of his patented hail mary's. Not even one of the best defenses in the league could hope to stand up to The Pack and their slippery QB, especially when the Giants' offense was especially awful. No one's hands seemed to work, most of all OBJ's. Giants lost 13-38, and the Packers are heading to Dallas next weekend to face the Cowboys.
Miami Dolphins (10-7) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (12-5): Well, despite all of my hope, the Dolphins had no chance at stopping the 3 B's. Bell, Brown, and Ben did what they usually do and dominated offensively for most of the game. On the other side of the ball, Miami's backup quarterback Matt Moore put up a decent fight, but a late hit to his chin late in the first quarter seemed to leave the backup dazed for the whole game. Interestingly, the wind was a little too much for even the home team to muster, and both teams missed kicks for extra points or field goals. The Dolphins fell in the harsh cold of Pittsburgh 12-30, sending the Steelers to Kansas City next week to take on the Chiefs.
