Recolors doesn't mean same personality. · 11:27pm Dec 21st, 2016

If Moon Dancer and Twilight or Daring Do and Rainbow Dash look alike but different personalities then it's not a recolor. Character appearance isn't the problem but to those who think it's problem are the ones with the problems.
It's lazy, it's unoriginal but who's to say it's not a good character? Auto judgment is the reason behind ignoring a character's description. I made an example of it in this chapter.

So base on Brony Notion's theory it came to us that from the show there are some characters who share the same appearance. Back in season one recolors only takes place on background ponies, until season two came in. Daring Do's look is very similar to Rainbow dash. It's more likely just an uncanny coincidence or just lazy character design, but it didn't stop there. In season 5 another recolor character that happens to be Twilight's opposite/friend moon dancer looks just like her (until she ties her hair upward). What's with this recolor character? and why do they look like the main characters?

Meanwhile, in the brony community, there are a lot of OC's that are usually recolor and the main reason is lazy lazy work. Most bronies aren't as artistic enough to design their own so they improvise on making their OC's by using pony generators. But the question is: Why is a recolor OC considered bad? They didn't hurt anyone physically or does it actually affects the actual series.

Well, let's compare these issues with this theory. It depends on who made the OC (other than they made it for the sake of trolling) Most of these recolors are created by young audiences, who are really inspired by real characters of the series. They draw or made their OC's at pony generator based on their favorite characters. That also applies to Moon dancer, who is obviously an Idol of Twilight as for Rainbow Dash and Daring Do it's the other way around.

So for short: Recolor OC or minor characters are based on the inspiration of one character. So don't feel down when people make fun of your recolor OC. Keep in mind that everyone has their own level of originality.
