This is just a quick heads up to all of you Finding My Place readers.
The story will be taking a bit of a break for the month of December. Yes, I know, I've left you all on a cliffhanger with chapter 20. But December is going to be a hectic month for me. I'm still a full-time student, and as anyone who's been to college knows, December is the time for final exams, final projects, final speeches, etc. On top of that, I'm filling out forms and paperwork and writing a letter to apply for upper-division in my chosen college, which would be the last big hurdle on my path to my degree.
On top of that, I've also so-wisely decided to take up a new job. While this is mostly positive - $1 more an hour for the same type of work, better location, better schedule, better people to work with, etc - I do still have to finish my final 2 weeks at the old job. So on top of school I'm essentially working 2 jobs for the next 2 weeks.
On top of that - as if that wasn't enough stress - I've been informed that my domicile will be hosting dinner on Christmas day... for ten adults and four kids. And Christmas dinner also includes the gift exchange that comes after. While certainly large enough to host such a gathering, my home is... a bit of a disaster area right now, and requires a good amount of TLC to be presentable. Even after the semester ends, there will be several weeks of frantic vacuuming, scrubbing, gathering of food, tree-decorating, gift-shopping, present-wrapping, and likely stress-eating (and stress-drinking).
It doesn't help that Pokemon Sun and Moon just came out...
These next four weeks are going to put my poor time-management skills to the test. Something's gotta give, and unfortunately that comes down to some of the things I find enjoyable, but time-consuming. So I'm going to be taking a bit of a break from writing. during December. No updates. No plot developments. No cliffhangers. No writing for me at all, outside of schoolwork, until at least Christmas. Maybe even until the New Year, depending on post-Christmas family fallout and hangovers...
But fret not. Come the new year, I'll get right back to writing. It may be another week or two after I start writing again, but I'll get an update ready for you all... and hopefully a little extra something something...
Thanks for your patience. Hope you all have a happy holiday season.
