If I opened a Patreon page, would any of you be willing to bribe support me into writing more fanfiction? I may even dabble at drawing some art.
Sometimes I write stories.

Keep in mind that I'm the least likely to do such a thing. I really don't see the point in essentially paying people to make fanfiction. To me, if it takes money to motivate a fanfic author then it's not worth it. Now if it were artwork commissions that's an entirely different thing which I know is a perfectly valid option to acquire income and even develop skills for a portfolio. That I have nothing against.
I just don't want to spend money on fanfics that only I can make which will satisfy me. As for commissions-I don't care. If I'm motivated enough I'll just model, texture and render a 3D scene and make that my cover art. In fact, I have a few things made already.
Nevertheless, I don't condemn taking money for fanfics. I just generally frown upon it. I'm more concerned about the author scamming. I openly admit that I'm hard to satisfy hence why I don't even consider paying someone to make me a fanfic. I would be wasting my money
I can feel the heat from haters right now. Apparently I have triggered people. Please direct your hate to the designated file, File 13. It is also flame-retardant. Don't worry, it won't melt.

It's rare amongst the low numbers of authors with patreons and what-have-you, but I've seen them.

It's genuinely surprising that I'm still genuinely surprised at how people can screw each other over.
