Although they live miles apart and rarely see one another, Amber Glow and Luna both find themselves plagued by a similar feeling. While they appear whole and happy on the surface, underneath neither is sure of who they are.

Bout time for an update, eh?

Not a big enough update to qualify for Rabbit Tracks, but this is just to say: Work is continueing on "Just a Pony", albeit slowly. Two more chapters down, then I got sidetracked by videogames, now I'm sidetracked by homework and sickness, and then hopefully back to "Just a Pony" soon!

    Irony

I tried to write a blog about how I haven't been able to write. I accidentally hit ctrl+r and refreshed the page, losing everything I had written. A cruel bit of irony. I am tired and angry with myself and scared for my future as a writer and I do not have the energy to retype it, so pretend there is some sincere and heartfelt explanation here and you're moved by the struggles of some weird

Pictures should be fixed across all stories

At this point if anyone is seeing broken images in my fics on Fimfiction please let me know! For anyone looking for a new image hosting site with Discord having done the Big Suck, I used Postimages and it was rather simple and efficient.

    Image hosting

Real quick, I know my images are all borked again; what are folks using for image hosting these days? Needs to be free and the less likely it is to implode the better... I was using Discord until just recently which is why this mess happened lmao

    Becoming myself

It's a bit strange that I've spent days trying to figure out how to write this. It's such a big thing and I want to get that across to y'all, but I never will. So I'm just going to rip off the bandaid and get this out there. Because something amazing happened to me.

Post-In Pieces plans, or: Writing things people actually care about again ^^' · 1:53am Oct 22nd, 2016

So the final chapter of In Pieces will be posted on Wednesday, and I figured I'd cut off any 'What's next' questions by making a blog post I can link in the chapter description. Short answer: Two short stories then a long story about Sunset when she first goes through the mirror. Details under the cut.

Before getting into the stories themselves, something I'm super happy to announce is that I've got one hell of a story buffer. Basically, I have over two months worth of weekly updates mostly finished (some stuff still requires editing, but it's all written). So from here on out, you can pretty much count on something from me every week. I am changing the update day, though. Mondays work best for my schedule, so that's what I'm going with.

Before I continue with Who We Become, I'll be posting two short stories. Idk the order, the one I had planned to post first is only mostly finished so they might swap places. Doesn't really matter too much, anyway. The first one will be published on November 1st (which is a Tuesday because I don't want to post on Halloween, when the site probably won't have many readers and will probably have a flood of Halloween themed stories). The second story will be published on November 7th.

Just Like Old Times

Throughout her marriage, Twilight Velvet has ignored every romantic feeling she felt towards other ponies. She was a good wife, and good wives knew better than to dwell on thoughts like that. But as they grew older and experienced other ways of thinking, Twilight Velvet and Night Light realized her feelings don’t cheapen their marriage and the love they share.

With her husband’s encouragement, Velvet finally pursues the pony that’s been on her mind for twelve years.

This story was largely inspired by this image, which will also be the cover art (I asked permission, of course). Anyone who's read Finding Home (and I always assume that's everyone who cares about my blog posts) will note obvious similarities to the backstory. I wrote this story in such a way that that it could be a continuation of Velvet's experiences from Finding Home, but it's not actually canon to Who We Become at all. It could be considered more of a 'what if?' story that can also easily stand on its own without FH as a bacground.

Side by Side

Applejack and Matte Palette were inseparable when they were younger. Like her, the poor colt doesn’t seem to have much in common with kids his own gender, so they form an unlikely duo. Until Applejack moves to live with the Orange side of her family and fails to keep in touch with her childhood friend.

But time passes, and Applejack returns to Ponyville. Her biggest hope is to pick up where she left off, and that includes her friendship with Matte Palette. Something seems different about him, though.

A birthday present written for Dessert, about their headcanons and favorite ship. Without getting too into details (which will probably be very obvious as soon as the story starts lol) this story explores themes not dissimilar to my main ones, with a similar blend of drama/sweetness.

Once those are done, I'll be posting the next part of Who We Become, which is a currently unnamed Sunset story (working title is Looking Glass). Prologue and first chapter will be posted on November 14th, then a chapter every Monday from there on out. I anticipate it being around thirty chapters because I have no chill.

Sunset always knew she was destined for greatness, but never dreamed of how great she could become. But she had seen it, the mirror had shown her as an alicorn. Ignoring Celestia’s warnings, Sunset goes looking for answers.

When she learns that the mirror is also a portal to another world, well, what else was she supposed to do? But it seems that she hadn’t considered every possibility. She hadn’t, for example, considered that she might get herself trapped on the other side. Nor did she think she’d find herself transformed into a child again.

I've mentioned this story before, it's a fairly dark story centering on how Sunset came to be who she was in EQG1. It'll cover from just before she goes through the mirror to seeing the first movie from her POV (or at least some of it, I dunno I'll figure that out once I get to it). So far it's not nearly as heavy as I thought it was going to be the last time I talked about it in a blog post, which means it'll probably be a much easier read (in my head I had the big major moments, which are very dramatic, but spacing them out eased the tone of the story).

So that's the plan. I'd appreciate any feedback on the story descriptions, I of course want them to make the stories sound appealing and always kinda struggle to hone in on how to best do that.

Cooool!
I haven't really been able to catch up on In Pieces, but I'm trying. I know I've already read it in prereading, but I'll still drop a like in it.
I can't wait for the rest!

The story's not much different from what you've read, honestly :ajsmug: Might've give back and smoothed over some sentences here and there, but no need to reread it or anything of the sort.

And thanks, I'm looking forward to posting them :yay:

I wrote this story in such a way that that it could be a continuation of Velvet's experiences from Finding Home, but it's not actually canon to Who We Become at all. It could be considered more of a 'what if?' story that can also easily stand on its own without FH as a bacground.

Eh, nothing wrong with a good "what if" spinoff. I'm definitely interested in seeing this one, what with us having talked about seeing more of Velvet's side of things back in FH. Even if it's not an official continuation or side story, it could still shed some light on her character and feelings on the issues considering how close it is to what we saw in the story.

So that's the plan. I'd appreciate any feedback on the story descriptions, I of course want them to make the stories sound appealing and always kinda struggle to hone in on how to best do that.

Well that's an easy one. Just lie and say that it's full of hot pony sex. That always seems to draw a crowd :raritywink:

Seriously though, I think the descriptions are fine. Interesting enough to get catch some attention, but not so detailed that it feels like there's no point in reading the story. Admittedly, that second one tends to be less common on longer stories, but it's easy to do with short/medium-length one-shots. Of course, having already gone through a lot of the WWB universe I might not have the most reliable judgement about how much is too little/too much, since I'm already familiar with some of the basic background concepts.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you've got so much of it ready to go, even if it still needs editing. I'd feel much better knowing that you have it backed up in half a dozen different locations just in case, but I'm still excited all the same.

You know, I almost wrote a clop story about TwiShySet, just to try and get featured :trixieshiftright: Alas, I have no idea how to make things sound sexy so I just sanitized it and added it as the threesome scene towards the end of Finding Home.

Of course, having already gone through a lot of the WWB universe I might not have the most reliable judgement

And therein lies my problem, everyone I could ask has already read at least some of my stuff. Otherwise, why would they be on this blog post? Oh well, it shall be what it shall be. I'm glad you think they sound interesting, all the same

Between two and three places, depending on the level of completeness. Everything is on Google Docs cloud storage, then backed up onto my laptop. Edited things are added to Fimfiction, just not published. Hopefully that shall prove sufficient :twilightsheepish:

Those sound like great plans! ^^ Can't wait to read all that. ( ᵃᶰᵈ ᵐᵃʸᵇᵉ ᵈʳᵃʷ ˢᵗᵘᶠᶠ, ʸᵒᵘ ᵏᶰᵒʷ, ᵗʰᵉ ᵘˢᵘᵃᶫ⋅⋅⋅):scootangel:
