Shin Godzilla was awesome

Saw it Thursday night. Go see it if you get the chance.

The first half was a lot better than the second half, which dragged a bit and could have had some cuts. Weirdly, the CGI went between amazing and awful (the trains scene at the end looked really bad).

This Shin Gojira is sort of a glass tiger, where he's slower and probably easier to damage than other previous Godzillas, but his radioactive breath is hilariously powerful. I mean, see for yourself (obvious spoilers).

Anno Hideaki directs, so there's the occasional EVA reference. Take that as you will.

Highly recommended.
