Story Updates. The Good, the Bad and the Slow. · 6:34am Oct 15th, 2016
So lets start off this with the elephant that has been staring at me for a while now: Where is Twilight, Soldier of War? That's a good question, well the short version is I hope to get the next chapter out before October 20th (A big patch for Stellaris comes out then and I will be playing it like crazy). The longer version isn't so simple. You see, I've run out of any passion I once had for this story. This became apparent to me while I was working on my latest story A Message From Chrysalis With Love; I wrote that story on pure spite after see the season 6 final, and when I read back over it I can still feel that. But with the latest chapter of Twilight, Soldier of War I feel nothing but boredom, and it shows in the story.
With all of that said, after the next chapter of TSOW is out I will likely be putting the story on hiatus for the foreseeable future. I've been debating over doing this for awhile now, but didn't want to put the story on hiatus for a second time. The first time I simply didn't have the writing skills to write it in the first place, but now I simply have no passion for it. So I'm sorry to everyone who liked the story, but if it helps hiatus doesn't mean canceled, and eventually I do plan to finish it but I have no idea when that will be.
Wrath of War: Once the next chapter of TSOW is out I will be working to get this one off hiatus, but I'm going to try to have a few chapters done before I do so, as to give me a git of breathing room in-between chapter uploads.
I mean it's fine if you need to take a step back but what upset you about the finale?
4256617 For the record, I like the finale up until the ending when they turned the changelings into something else. I made a post about it if you want to read it. Be warned it's a bit ranty.

You know it's funny because there already were stories similar to what happened seasons ahead of time. I mean they are "change"ling's and with all the bug and cocoon imagery people were already making the butterfly connection.
I mean one story had them as an ancient race of butterfly esque ponies that were cursed by Discord and assumed dead.
Also think of it this way people still write stories with Twilight as a unicorn, so nothing's really stopping you from enjoying and adding on to how they were before the finale.

That's true and it's not like I can't just ignore that part of the final when writing. And ironically, one of my stories has changelings turn into somethings that's barely a changeling, although not as colorful.
But I think part of the problem was that the changelings lore the show intruded in that episode isn't very well thought out. I still don't like the change but I got most of my frustration out when I wrote my story about it.
4256631 most of my most favorite episodes are some of the most hated
Everyone bashes Canterlot Wedding, Anon-a-miss, etc but they spawned a lot of awesome stories in comparison to the episodes no one really hates or likes. Intense emotions can lead to good writing when harnessed correctly.
4256637 I always really liked Canterlot Wedding, it's were we first see the changelings after all. Yeah, Intense emotions can make the best stories.
