Slight delay? Maybe? · 2:16am Oct 9th, 2016
I may delay the final chapter of the next Monster Madness a day or two.
This isn't an issue of not having the story done or not. One chapter is complete, the second is undergoing editing, and the third is scripted and currently about 2,000 words. I will for certain have the last chapter done by Monday, but I would very much like to get it all edited. That was part of the problem with Timberjack. I put so much emphasis on a single day release that the last (unedited) chapter suffered. I really don't want to do that for this one because the particular movie I selected makes things considerably darker.
All of these are based on some kind of horror movie, or a movie with strong horror elements. There are different types of horror, and the next story firmly grasps (goddamnit) a particular one. Timberjack was more thriller than scary. This one... well, be very mindful of the tags. It's not going to be for everyone. I hope you're not squeamish.
I will give you some insight of what I am doing with these. I wish to merge horror and erotica without going into something extremely fringe. It's a clopfic, but what leads up to the actual clop material is what's unusual and at times horrific. Even terrifying. I've set two goals for myself. The first is make those five deadlines. The second is testing my writing mettle to see if I can take these two very different ideas and make them work together. Perhaps I can, perhaps not. Even if I fail, I have a better idea of my limits and abilities.
I firmly intend to makes all five deadlines for all five stories. Wait, hold on.
Fuck off, Murphy.
I intend to keep that deadline, barring unforeseen circumstances. I have already selected the next three movies and monsters, and for the final story, the grand pièce de résistance, I have the character and the monster, but not the exact movie. The way things are going, I will likely continue with this three chapter/arc format I've been going for. I will be breaching 50,000 this month alone if things continue as they are. Isn't that the goal of NaNoWriMo? Awesome. I don't think there's a publisher alive that will touch these five. Although I am familiar with Japanese erotic horror.
Anyway, I am shooting for a one or two chapter story each time, but it rarely works out like that. And... well, I think that's it.
Hope you all enjoyed Timberjack, and I will continue to enjoy my next.
Cheers.
