After The Great Thaw · 1:01am Sep 25th, 2016
I should make a blog post, I told myself. The Great Thaw was one of my fastest stories to ever get featured, after all. It ended up in the featured box literally an hour or so after I posted it to the site and stayed up there for most of the next day, which I absolutely did not expect. It was definitely an occasion worthy of note, I thought. I should mention it sometime soon.
Then I went and got back into Dragon Age Inquisition and started The Witcher 3 and well, my productivity went right down the toilet.
But hey, better late than never, right? Right?
So it's late, but as I mentioned, The Great Thaw is probably my first story to get featured so quickly on this site, and frankly I was quite stunned by how fast it ended up in the box and how long it held on to its position. I wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who liked the story, faved it, commented on it (whether to praise it or give it constructive critique), and to everyone who saw that story and thought giving me a follow after reading it was worthwhile; or they came to my profile after, found another story they liked, and followed me for that one.
Seriously, thank you all. That was a great delight.
Next up on the writing agenda: the next chapter of Now You Need Us. I have the chapter title down, now I just need to get started on the actual content for the chapter.
Games: the true enemy of productivity.
(Seriously, they're like totally evil)
Now I need to figure out your secret and get on that box eventually.
Congrats again! You've got a lot of good press lately.
I'm not terribly surprised; I think Rarishimmer (Sunsarity?) is a ship that's gaining a lot of ground, in no small part thanks your stories Still, congratulations and all that, I'm glad to see it did so well
Yes Nothing against your one-shots, they're marvelous. I always go in with high expectations whenever you post something, and yet I'm still often surprised at exactly how much I enjoy your stories. It's just that as a matter of personal preference, I do like long form stories better.
Although I have to say, now that you've mentioned the possibility of doing a poly story, that's right up there with Now You Need Us for things I'm excited about All good things in time, I suppose.
Whatchu playin' as?

Dalish archer Inquisitor, which has honestly been way more fun than I expected it to be. I just got to Skyhold last night and I'm having a blast with my world state.

I found out early on that I couldn't stand the way melee combat was handled, which sucks for me because my first character is usually a sword & board type... ended up going with a mage and fell in love with it; now it's hard for me to want to try anything else,
If the game has one drawback, it's that most of the gameplay changes that can occur on each playthrough come from the worldstate and not from your own actions while playing. I also really wonder how they're planning to handle any future game given the seemingly large decision you need to make at the end of the Trespasser DLC.
