Pokémon: Fates Collide is a new fanfiction that I've been working on and the prologue is just about ready for release! However, I need your help... kinda. More like consent, but whatever. Basically, I'm looking for a few people who are interested in being in my story. Below me are various character slots where your character could fit into the story. Obviously this is a first-come-first-serve kinda thing, but there are a few slots open you can potentially join.

Descriptions:
Protagonist:
The most important character in a narrative and the one the plot will have the most focus on. Note that I am one of these protagonist. This is because I am putting myself in this story. Relax, this won't be just another self-insert story like so many others on this planet; I'll keep it as vague as possible. This slot is special in that it is reserved only to the person I see as worthy enough to be my doppelganger. That sounds horrible, I know, but it's the only way I can really explain it. Anyone can try out, though keep in mind that only one person can be chosen.Deuteragonist:
The second most important character in a narrative. Though not as important as protagonists, deuteragonists are given just as much screen time, character development and romance as protagonists do, the only difference being the plot isn't as focused on them as it is the protagonists. This slot is available to anyone who doesn't quite want to be a protagonist but still wants some spotlight.Tritagonist:
The third most important character in a narrative. They are not plot centered enough to be considered protagonist or deuteragonists, though they still have a large impact in the plot. Sometimes they don't even get screen time and are only mentioned, though this doesn't ruin their importance. This slot is available to anyone who understands their character won't get as much screen time as other characters or if you simply don't want much spotlight.Tertiary Antagonist:
The least important villain in a narrative and most likely the joke villain before the real bad guys show up. Mostly meddles in heroes' plans and attempts to thwart them at every turn, though falls victim to the fact they fail every time. Think of them like Team Rocket from the anime, if you will. This slot is available to anyone who enjoys the idea of maybe turning good by the middle or end of the story and helping the heroes, though no promises.
Rules:
- No Mary Sues/Gary Stus
- No legendary Pokemon as partners (Exceptions: Manaphy, Shaymin, Victini, Darkrai and Regi trio)
- One Pokemon partner ever (partner can be anything except legendaries, as already established)
- Don't get upset if you weren't chosen for a certain role. I'll do what I can to get you into another one.
- Please don't use your real names when naming your characters. I respect your privacy.
- Don't rush the character sheet.Notes:
- Your character can be gay, lesbian, trans, etc. I would love to see one of these in the cast, but it's ultimately your choice.
- Your character is allowed to be an "anti-hero" of sorts. Just don't overdo it.
- If you want, your character can be your hero from a core Pokemon game.
- You can have siblings in story canon, should you choose.
- If your character needs slight tweaking to fit into a slot, I'll ask permission before I change your character a bit.
- Backstory isn't too important as most of the fanfiction's story is already written.
- If you want to write a small backstory for your character, that's alright.

I'd like to be a protagonist, or their partner, like Brock and Misty in the first two seasons.

Personality: fun loving but serious when the situation demands it. Shows a soft side to Pokémon. Is fiercely protective of those he cares about.
Background:Nova hails from the small town of New Bark, with the dream of taking on the Pokémon League challenge in each region. He received Typhlosion from Professor Elm when he was still a Cyndiquil. Named him after the star of his favorite video game series.
I'm leaving a fair chunk of backstory up to interpretation.

Is very relaxed and perfere to travel on his partners back, he doesn't mind figthing but just wanna travel the world and feel free, Jack doesn't need a reason to help people or pokemons.
Background:
Jack comes from a a rich family in sinnoh close to veilstone city, Jack have 9 othe siblings and feel like a piece of a set, so he went out on a journey to feel free and closer to nature, he dreams of seeing all the rare sites in the world and hope he can one day learn to understand what his partner say

Appearance: Black hair in a ponytail, hazelnut color eyes, light brown skin, 5'3, wears black shorts to knees, tan sandals, red tank top, open brown vest.
Personality: loyal, and a quick thinker, Stephanie likes to observe her opponent before attacking. However, she is also stubborn and prone to trying to do everything herself, causing her to exhaust herself easily.
Background: When she was little, she lost her friend to Darkrai. Desperate to save her best friend Matt, Stephanie joined (Evil team name here) because the boss promised to help bring her friend back.
Quirks: When nervous, she'll play with her ponytail. She also has a hatred of Darkrai.

Appearance: Messy blue hair that sticks up a little bit, wears glasses to see, jeans, a green shirt under a blue jacket, tennis shoes.
Personality: The type of guy who's sort of a clutz, but still gets things done one way or another. He does get angered quite easily, but has been getting over that.
Background: James was born in Coumarine City. Over the years in school, he was picked on for wearing glasses and had his nose stuck in a book. He got a riolu as his first Pokemon after rescuing it from drowning in the ocean. He's travels the region, taking notes on the different Pokemon he's encountered. He's just a simple guy who want to be a professor in the future. Along his journey, he saved a zorua from a pack of gang members who were mistreating it, even though james did get some injuries saving the zorua. So he and his Pokemon explore the region recording any and all Pokemon he's seen.
The Pokemon that he is traveling with is Ryu (Lucario), Shadow (Zoroark), Smarts (Metagross), Spooks (Dusknoir), Rocky (Rypherior), and Sparky (Magnezone)
Deuteragonist or Tritagonist (is this a real word?), what suits you more

Partner: Lucario "Rio" (or it could start as Riolu and evolve later)

Personality: Smart, but with a few insecurities (which like to come out when he's alone),usually doesn't know how to start conversations, but if he gets into one he can go full nerd-mode and talk like a waterfall until you sometimes have to stop him, a bit shy, which is why he rather supports others and follows them than standing in the spotlight himself, enjoys the company of others and Pokemon, but sometimes needs a bit alone time, also can't make decisions and doesn't get along well with too much pressure and stress, really bad at naming (if you couldn't tell already)
Background: Not very special to be honest, loving mother, a younger sister who is basically the exact opposite of him (social butterfly), of course they clashed sometimes (read: often) bur nothing major, because of his rather introverted personality he didn't have many friends, decided (after some self-persuasion) to go on the journey to learn more about pokémon and maybe overcome some of his insecurities
And please don't make me Alphys/Fluttershy again

I love to see my character to be the Primary Antagonist. I do understand that you already have someone in the end but this character would be great for the role. In the Pokémon series there is always a rival that stands against the player of the game. Always forcing the player to be stronger every time they met, as well there being a strong rival relationship between them.
In the series I notice there isn't really a rival that the main characters aren't afraid of, so I thought I should make a female rival that the main characters would be more afraid to go against than anything trainer they have face.
She is somewhat a mix of Gray Oak & Paul. (Paul was the rival from Sinnoh in the Anime)

She is 5'4 with a body shape for a trainer and a winner. Her hair is a Dark rose color that seems to look like fire and smoke. Her hair design has a feeling of toughness and strength. Every time she wipes her hair to turn, it looks like it makes little fire sparks that could catch something on fire... it's long, going half to her back. Her eyes are the flame of your own destruction! Colors being mix with Ruby red and a bit Navy blue, looking into her eyes is a big mistake...
She wears a long t-shirt with Team Valor symbol on it that seems to be reflecting fire, also the shirt is black with a Ruby red lines at the ends of the shirt. Her backpack black with grey sides and has red laces through the backpack. Also has the Valor symbol on it to.
Has a necklace with the Red Orb on it. No one knows how she obtain the powerful Item that summons Groudon and even making the item small to be a necklace. (She only uses it for last resort)
She proudly wears a mega stone on her right hand, it being black with red & white stripes around the stone. Has long dark navy blue jeans with a white belt. Her shoes are sneakers that are Sapphire blue with white fire symbol on the sides and red shoelaces.
Personality:
Tough, quite, smart, aggressive to anyone she deems not worthy of her time, impatient and doesn't like it when her orders fail or mess up.
Her voice sounds beautiful and deadly has a dragon with Authority. Also has emotional issues in her heart and using that to drive for her goals.
She does have a soft spot but it's unknown what that might be...
Background:
Very unknown past, only a few rumors of what her story is... Some say she wants to revenge for a death of her little sister, because of some kind of accident... Another said She has been looking for powerful Pokémon & artifacts to achieve her goal of being the most powerful Pokémon Trainer in History. Others say she was born from the Volcanos of Hoenn.
There are few other rumors that the reason why she hates the heroes, because one of their families were responsible...
Only one rumor was proven true that she hates heroes, believing there Ideals or what they stand for is foolish and not trustworthy, that they should be defeated.

Dami has long, purple hair which tends to cover one eye, along with a dark purple tinge to her eye color. During most formal events and battles, such as contests, gym battles, and the pokemon league, Dami will wear black dresses, often showing off a bit of skin, as shown here:

When out of competitions, she tends to wear more conservative clothing, opting for a simple skirt and top, favoring darker colors(think gladion) with designs that compliment her gengar. She may even put her hair up in a ponytail if she happens to be travelling.

Dami is cool and collected often, much like Cynthia. She can also be much of a flirt to close friends, though if ever prompted with a date, she often relents, saying she'll wait to find the perfect match. She is very particular, often requiring her pokemon to both exemplify grace as well as the sinister ferocity ghost types are often known for. Whether in a contest or a battle, her motto is always the same: "Shock and amaze,"
Background:
Dami is a mysterious woman, confiding in very few people. She will, however, respect the strength of her opponents, and act accordingly in a competition. Often times she can be seen in graveyards, perhaps searching for more ghost pokemon to bolster her team, or perhaps there's something more? As mentioned before, she has an affinity for ghost types, but isn't against using other pokemon types as well, in order to keep her opponents on her toes. she loves beautiful pokemon, like Frostlass, but also respects the fear that pokemon like Dusknoir and Shedinja command.
This is what I got, use her however you like. Heck, you could use her as a gym leader if you want. I hope this goes well, and I'd love to read it whenever this comes out. If you need anything else from me, be sure to let me know

IMPORTANT NOTICE
There has been a slight change of plans regarding the main antagonists. Due to a slight overstep in my fault, secondary and primary antagonists have been removed for set characters within the narrative. Apologies to any who wanted to be one of those, but this was simply a case of me taking more than I could chew.

You can nickname your partners. In fact, I endorse it! Names help people grow more attached to characters, and if we don't know a character's name, even if it's a Pokemon, we start to lose a bit of connectivity with that character.

I love every single character that comes through, but I won't be able to consider them if you haven't decided what kind of roll you'd like in the story. Easy fix: simply edit your character sheet to include your roll.

And keep in mind that even if you don't get the position you wanted you're always allowed to tryout for other rolls. Appearance: 24 year old male, blue eyes, light brown hair, 6' 2", 250 lbs of muscle bone, barely any fat on him. He usually wears a t-shirt 2x his size, and extra long shorts that go past his knees for casual wear. His travel cloths consist of a pair of loose jeans and a belt with a T-shirt and sports jacket with hiking boots and a red beret.
Personality: John is not very social, but isn't shy. He can be outgoing and loves to talk about breeding pokemon. He primary focuses on Eevee breeding, but wants to know about all types of pokemon breeding. He doesn't tolerate theft or lying, and believes honesty is the best policy. He cares for his friends and goes out of his way to help them, and even if he can't get immediate results, still trys to aid them. He is kind, but often lets himself be taken advantage of. But his loyalty is unwavering.
Background: John came from a working class family. His father was the head manager at a machine shop near his home, and his mother taught at the local middle school. He has two sets of twin siblings ( 2 brothers age 12, and 2 sisters age 10, and tries to help his parents raise them.
He was ridiculed through school for being "fluffy" and it drove him to seek ways to loose the flab. By his senior year in high school, he was 250lbs and had a well developed physique.
He graduated high school and went on to study pokemon and decided to become a breeder, and started traveling to various parts of the world.
On one of his first journeys, he encountered a baby female eevee trapped in a thorny bush in a forest. He freed the eevee, and it followed him all the way to inn he was staying at. The pair bonded and became inseparable.

What I mean is every character gets one Pokemon they use for battle. If we had a team for every single character in the story, we'd have a clusterfuck of epic proportions. However, your partner Pokemon can be whatever you want excluding Legendary and Mythical Pokemon (exceptions above) and excluding any Pokemon partners in the character sheets below that people have already stated.

A tall, somewhat scrawny, and tanish man with green eyes and unkempt curly hair, just long enough that they could be mistaken for a girl. He wears a plain green T-shirt, pale khaki pants and has an brown adventurer's fedora hanging on his back. He wears a brown computer bag that holds his gear inside, and pouches on the outside for his pokemon.
Personality:
A generally nice individual who, despite being constantly tired, tries to stay upbeat whenever possible. He is known to have a very dry sense of humor, and tries not to make jokes, though he makes them unconsciously. His hobbies are tinkering with items, fencing and rotom-hunting. His dream is to find other weapon-like pokemon. He does not hate rotom, but see's the power of what they could do and thinks that they may hold the key to find other weapon pokemon.
Background:
Growing up with tales of Knights and Kings, Navieka was enthralled with sword fighting. He spent several years learning how to fence, but curbed his interest to a hobby as he grew up. He started to learn technology and wanted to learn how things worked, so he went from city to city, trying to learn how things worked. During one of his trips, he encountered a Honedge. They did battle, and Navieka eventually caught him. Navieka named him Enkidu, and became friends. This rekindled his spark for swordplay, and after running into several rotom, he had an idea: He would search for other weapon pokemon and see if he could find other shapes, like spears or hammers. He then set out into the world to achieve his goal. During this journey Enkidu evolved into Aegislash, and he modifies his pokegear so he can find the pokemon he's looking for a bit quicker.
Quirks:
Refuses to let anyone say "What's the worst that could happen?" or anything along those lines.
Uses marked premier balls to hold items for easy storage. One of them holds a small cabin. (can provide reason why this should be possible if necessary)

Carefree and goofy with a fondess for destruction, which often causes her to oversee the consequences of being, well, a bit of a jerk. However, she isn't as innocent and oblivious as one may think - she's definitly aware that she could kill people and Pokemon in her insanity. She's also a bit flirty with whomever.
