Today, we celebrate the unicorn, Rarity, the fun, funny, and beautiful unicorn who is just an overall great character.

For those of you who don't know, Rarity is my favorite character in MLP. That might sound weird because I have yet to write a story with her as the main character yet, but that's just because I'm a little intimidated with getting her right. Anyway, I love Rarity. She makes me laugh, she makes me smile, and she even made me feel a few times (the first one that comes to mind is Sisterhooves Social). That last thing in particular is saying something. A lot of the things that people say make them feel or changed their life really don't affect me. I'm serious; I have seen a lot of things that people make them cry, and I don't budge (maybe that's why I'm sometimes called cold hearted).

Rarity is also the main reason I became a brony. In 2012, I was first introduced to FiM through a webseries called Death Battle, the episode of which co-stared Rainbow Dash. I was amazed on how cute and colorful FiM looked (as well as Rainbow's abilities), and it stuck with me for a while. A few weeks later, I noticed by chance that I had the Hub channel, where FiM was just about to run. I got curious. I looked at the info and saw that it starred Rainbow Dash. I was still intrigued in Rainbow from the webseries, so, after a little internal debate with myself about my masculinity, I sat down and watched my first episode of FiM (Fall Weather Friends). I liked it. It was cute, innocent, and it made me laugh.

I didn't immediately go back to the series though. I had plenty of other things to do. However, just a few days later when I finally had the time and saw the show was running again, I went back. I had tuned in just in time to see the final act of The Show Stoppers (I still thought it was cute ). The episode ended and the next full episode was about to play, and that episode was A Dog and Pony Show. That is a great episode. I loved it, especially because of Rarity. I thought if the rest of the series was good, I'd watch it all. I wouldn't care about the fact it was a little girls' show. The next episode played (Green isn't Your Color), loved it, loved Rarity, and the rest is history.

So yeah, Rarity is the main reason I became a brony. I didn't start out with her, but she's definitely the one who hooked me in. I love Rarity. She's smart, fashionable, one-half of my second favorite ship (RariShy), and I hope to see plenty more of her in the future.
