[Found One] Looking for an experienced Dungeon Master · 2:29am Sep 12th, 2016

UPDATE: Well I've found a new person to become the new Dungeon Master for our group. Apologies if you were late.

I've recently formed a tabletop RPG group on Discord, specifically for DnD 5e. Recent complications have arisen, leaving our DM to be incredibly busy for the upcoming months. Not wanting this group to collect dust so soon, I'm hoping to ask if any of you would be willing to become my group's DM. Of course all I ask is that you set aside some time and are already familiar with the rules of DnD, as well as having a good idea of how to play as the Dungeon Master. Leave a comment or PM me if interested.

I've kinda been wanting to pick up DnD for a bit now. I saw the words "warlock" and "Great Old One" and immediately blew my shit. The warlock Graatigor and his master Tulich Vara need somewhere to be birthed. Unfortunately I spend my money on MtG, textbooks, gas, and cigs, so DnD will need to take a backseat for a while.

Neat. D&d 5e eh? The group I was in did that for a bit, but I much rather prefer 3.5e. I'd say I'd be up for it, but I've never DM'd before, and honestly really don't want to. It can have its own appeal of fun, sure, but I like being that one random adventurer in the party who does outrageous things, and somehow gets it to work. Like managing to ride a ballista shot onto a Draco-lich and carve a path down its body as it tumbles through the air.

It'd be nice to have more players, but I believe we have quite too many and we need a Dungeon Master instead.

I would but only two problems. The first being I haven't played the game in a long time, still recall the rules and all but a tad rusty. Which brings me to problem two, you're asking for a Dungeon Master.

Last time I played the game I had a very bad habit of switching between Dungeon Master and Dragon Master at random points. Here's the difference between the two.
Dungeon Master: Helps players progress, and learn the game to the best of their abilities.
Dragon Master: Will drop a Red Dragon on a group of players, regardless of level, just to watch them struggle.

4206272 That's fine. I've actually found someone already to be the new DM.

4206371 Congrats, hope your game goes well.

I'm good without, honestly. D&D is overall the best RPG i know of, specially when done on paper with nothing but dice, pencils, and your imagination. Although, the more players in a group, the less fun it can get because of how long each individual could take thinking of a response to something. Or from all the bullshitting that can take place. I found a Pie Chart somewhere that had D&D being 10% playing, 15% snacks, and 75% screwing around, and it worked very well for my group. :rainbowlaugh: I had a lot of fun with it though.

4206764 We have 5-6 players at any given time for a session, but we usually try to make our moves as quick as we can.

4206711 You're welcome.
